Through the MMUS function download manager, the users are able to automate the Sentinel- 2 product download activities. For instance, the GMES Service Projects could subscribe to specific datasets as defined by HLOP, and automatically retrieve the required Sentinel-2 products. 6.11.3.8 Hosted-Processing Management This scenario stands for the user-driven requests for hosted-processing activities. The MMUS function offer to the user an appropriate interface to request specific production supplied ondemand by the PDGS hosted-processors and retrieve the resulting products. The latency for the hosted-processors output retrieval is not immediate and such outputs could be available after sometime (hours/days). Therefore, the MMUS function routes the hosted-processing requests through its download manager for the monitoring of the submitted hosted-processing requests. The following steps are identified for this operation scenario: 1) The user requests for a specific processing (hosted-processor) request according to the MMUS function offered interface; 2) The MMUS function conforms a hosted-processing request according to the defined interface and passes it to the user client side – the MMUS download manager -, that relies on the DAG client side (as a plug-in to the download manager) for the submission of the hosted-processing request to the DPC function; 3) The download manager, via the DAG client, monitors the hosted-processing request and when the outcome is available, it downloads it at the user-base. The generation of the prototype Level-2A products can be triggered via the MMUS function hosted-processing interface. 6.11.3.9 First-Line Support-Desk This scenario stands for the first-line Support-desk offered via ESA’s MMUS towards Sentinel-2 users requiring support on generic or Sentinel-2 specific matters. The incoming support requests, to be managed via a ticketing database system, can be classified as either: ○ Generic support regarding the Sentinel-2 mission, its services and products (e.g. quality, availability, timeliness, etc), access methods and interfaces, etc; ○ Expert Support for investigation of anomalies. On any request submitted by the users, the request will be registered, characterised and classified as per the above. In case of Expert support requests, the First-Line operator will route the request to the Second-Line Support-Desk operated by the MPA function (see section 6.16.3.4 - Second-Line Support-Desk ) and collect the investigation conclusions provided in return. Every support request processing ends with the recording of the concluding response into the ticketing database and the triggering of a response notification to the request originator. 6.11.3.10 Product Discovery and Download Statistics This scenario stands for the generation of statistics and reports on the product discovery and downloads activities performed by the user. The MMUS function (using the datawarehouse component) will be able to generate and store statistics that summarise the most demanded product discovery and product download activities requested by the users. This scenario allows the POM to have a comprehensive view on the most demanded product data, the most successful product collections, the amount of data supplied, etc. In this manner, the POM could define into the HLOP different product collections (i.e. datasets) according to the usage statistics. 6.11.3.11 CDS/DAIL Cataloguing Service This operation scenario implements the HMA catalogue service offered towards the CDS/DAIL according to the applicable ICD [RD-13]. 6.11.3.12 CDS/DAIL On-Line Data-Access Service This operation scenario implements the HMA ordering service offered towards the CDS/DAIL according to the applicable ICD [RD-14] for on-line data-access. 6.12 Multi-Mission User Services (OLIB) Operations 6.12.1 PRINCIPLES As part of the Sentinel-2 data-access services (cf. section 4.5.2.2.3), the PDGS will provide anonymous internet on-line access to Sentinel-2 imagery as True Colour Images (TCI). This service is focussing on the distribution of elaborated digital images rather than scientific products with the objective of sharing Sentinel-2 imagery with the general public. Access to the images will be provided through a client application (web browser with additional plug-ins) offering the image navigation and visualisation capabilities. 6.12.2 OPERATION CONSTRAINTS As the main objective of the OLIB function is to promote and foster the usage of the Sentinel- 2 imagery, the main operational constraint identified is the own function availability towards the users and good performances at the user-base when navigating through the available true-colour images. © ESA The copyright of this document is the property of ESA.
