○ Systematic reporting to the POM upon the validation activities performed before
operational transfer;
○ On-request reporting to the POM upon the PDGS system configuration baseline
evolutions over time, covering hardware items, software items and their configuration.
4.10.3.2.3 Mission Performance Assessment
This service component will provide the POM with comprehensive measures along time on
the PDGS performance and globally on the mission performance, covering:
○ The quality of the products delivered, the performance of the processing algorithms,
and long-term trends in the product quality;
○ The quality along time of the MSI and other critical on-board subsystems such as the
GPS and AOCS systems;
○ The overall end-to-end PDGS performance vis-à-vis its stakeholders and globally the
mission performance with respect to the HLOP.
4.10.3.2.4 Collaborative PDGS Management Support Service
This service will allow the POM to trigger and monitor the activities related to the
Collaborative PDGS based on the setting-up of the relevant collaboration agreements.
Once authorised, the collaborative service operation will proceed directly vis-à-vis the
collaboration peer as defined in section 4.10.2 Sentinel-2 Collaborative PDGS Services
according to the type of collaboration and the agreed terms of the collaboration.
Throughout the collaboration phases, dedicated reporting will be made as required to the
POM on the status of the collaboration and main outcome (e.g. maturity of new products,
data-distribution statistics from collaborative data-access mirroring centres, etc) with respect
to the agreed terms of the collaboration.
A dedicated Collaboration support PDGS function will carry out those tasks. (cf. 5.2.4.6).
4.10.3.3 Data Factory Operations Service
This service manages the recurrent operations of the PDGS at CGSs and PACs from data
reception from the satellites down to the production of all its output products and operation
reports according to the PDGS configuration.
As driven by the downlink plan applicable to each CGS and the operational configuration
settled via the Mission Control Service (cf. 4.10.3.2), the PDGS will operate systematically all
elaboration steps cascading from data-reception, including:
○ Antenna acquisition, signal demodulation, front-end processing, Level-0 processing
and archiving according to the downlink plan;
○ Systematic processing of all MSI acquired raw-data to higher levels according to the
configured processing parameters;
○ Systematic essential quality-control over the MSI acquired and processed data
according to the configuration;
