GSC Sentinel-2 PDGS OCD
Issue 1 Revision 2 (draft) - 25.07.2010
GMES-GSEG-EOPG-TN-09-0008
page 221 of 350
○ Automation on the products download activities according to the users subscribed
datasets;
○ Graphical interface for user-triggered hosted-processing requests and management;
○ Data-access (download) management based on previous data discovery/generation
activities;
○ Datasets/hosted-processing subscriptions management (i.e. creation, edition, deletion,
etc) and download automation;
○ CDS/DAIL catalogue and on-line access interface services implementing the
CDS/DAIL ICDs;
○ Generating statistics and reports on the catalogue search requests, products
requested for download, etc.
5.2.3.13.2 Design Drivers and Constraints
The following drivers and constraints are identified:
○ High availability and reliability. The MMUS function nominal activities are aimed for
operations towards end-users;
○ Support to the mission LTDP service granting data access operations accordingly;
○ Clear and user-friendly HMI operations;
○ Compliance with the applicable ICDs for the CDS/DAIL front-end;
5.2.3.13.3 Function Interfaces
The Sentinel-2 users as interactively interacting with the MMUS through the web-client or the
MMUS download manager.
The following functional interfaces are identified via the MMUS:
○ User interactive/automatic transactions (login, browsing of Sentinel-2 products, hosted
processing triggering, product download, etc);
○ Product discovery and on-line data access via CDS/DAIL i.e. through HMA service
interfaces;
○ The metadata ingestion interface from the DAX function (systematic reception and
ingestion of browse products and associated metadata);
○ The product data items location requests interface to the DAX function for the
corresponding data-sinks location (DAG server) of the archived product data items;
○ The data-access requests interface to the DAG function (client side) to perform the
actual product data items download and final product reconstruction;
○ The hosted processing transaction interface to the DAG function (triggering &
monitoring of hosted-processing jobs);
○ The statistics and reports on the data-access activities performed from the user side
(i.e. catalogue searches, products downloaded, etc).
