○ The provision and maintenance of documented guidelines covering centre installation
and configuration (hardware and software installation/configuration manuals, software
user manuals)
○ The provision and maintenance of relevant operational procedures covering the centre
operations vis-à-vis the PDGS provided software systems;
○ Support to the centre set-up under the form of a help-desk activated during the initial
phase of the collaboration.
On completion of the centre set-up, the core PDGS will start supplying data operationally
according to the terms of the collaboration agreement. Data supply will be performed either
electronically or via media reusing the mechanisms developed for the core PDGS internal
data-circulation.
4.10.2.1.3 Service Dependencies and Constraints
Eligibility to the service will be managed by the POM through the detailed definition of
collaboration agreements applicable to this type of collaboration.
4.10.2.1.4 Triggering Mechanism and Interface
The service will be globally managed through a dedicated Collaboration support PDGS
function. Please refer to section 5.2.4.6 for an outline description of this function.
Data-supply activities will be performed through a generic PDGS data-circulation function.
Please refer to section 5.2.3.8 for an outline description of this function.
4.10.2.2 Hosted Processing Service
Based on to the concepts defined previously in section 4.8.1.2, the Sentinel-2 PDGS will
provide a collaborative opportunity to data users enabling their data processors to be hosted
and run in the PDGS processing environment. The following paragraphs describe the specific
PDGS service enabling this collaboration
4.10.2.2.1 Service Users
This service targets the scientific research community or the GSP themselves. Access to this
service will be managed through the POM via a well-defined collaboration agreement.
4.10.2.2.2 Service Characteristics
The hosted-processing collaboration opportunity includes options targeting specific usage
and mode of operation:
○ A first option providing on-demand triggering capability of the user-provided processors
on the available data by the users themselves;
○ A second option targeting the automated triggering of the user-processors on the
incoming data flow for the autonomous generation of value-added products. The valueadded
products will be generated automatically on the available input flow and put at
disposal for download.
