Bachelor of Science in Engineering<br />

<strong>The</strong> Department of Civil and Environmental<br />

Engineering offers a B.S.E. program in environmental<br />

GRADUATE ProgrAM<br />

Master of Science in Environmental Health<br />

Requirements:<br />

1. Core Courses (four credits)<br />

CEE 154 Principles of Epidemiology<br />

CEE 167 Environmental Toxicology<br />

CEE 158 Occup<strong>at</strong>ional and Environmental Health<br />

BIO 132 or MPH 205 Biost<strong>at</strong>istics<br />

Another biost<strong>at</strong>istics or environmental st<strong>at</strong>istics<br />

course may be substituted with the permission of<br />

the student’s major advisor and thesis committee.<br />

2. <strong>The</strong>sis (two credits)—<strong>The</strong> M.S. thesis is the<br />

culmin<strong>at</strong>ion of concentr<strong>at</strong>ed study in a specific area<br />

of research within environmental health. <strong>The</strong>sis<br />

work contributes two course credits toward the<br />

M.S. degree (CEE-295 and CEE-296).<br />

3. Tracks (three credits)—All Environmental<br />

Health M.S. students must select either the<br />

Epidemiology or the Risk Assessment track. Students<br />

must take the required advanced course in the track,<br />

and then select two other courses as track electives.<br />

At least one of the courses must be from the track<br />

elective list; the other can be a course from the<br />

other track elective list, from the supplemental list<br />

of courses, or another course th<strong>at</strong> the student feels<br />

will meet his/her needs. All electives must be<br />

approved by the academic advisor.<br />
