Scholarship Funds ><br />
gift of a <strong>Tufts</strong> educ<strong>at</strong>ion with gener<strong>at</strong>ions of students, who,<br />
like Tanya, are eager to pursue a medical educ<strong>at</strong>ion built<br />
upon the solid liberal arts found<strong>at</strong>ion provided by <strong>Tufts</strong>.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Adelbert H. Morrison Fund, founded in 1958 under<br />
the will of Helen C. Morrison for the benefit of needy and<br />
worthy students majoring in engineering, preferably<br />
gradu<strong>at</strong>es of Boston Technical High School already<br />
<strong>at</strong>tending <strong>Tufts</strong>.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Gina George Morse Endowed Scholarship,<br />
established in 2009 by Gina George Morse, J’84, AG’87 in<br />
support of financial aid for undergradu<strong>at</strong>e students in the<br />
School of Arts and Science, with preference to students<br />
studying child development.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Joseph W. Morton Memorial Scholarship, established<br />
in 1956 by the men and women of the Class of 1931<br />
as their twenty-fifth reunion gift, to be awarded annually to<br />
a student in one of the undergradu<strong>at</strong>e schools of <strong>Tufts</strong><br />
<strong>University</strong>, preference being given to descendants of<br />
members of the Class of 1931 who are otherwise qualified.<br />
Named in honor of Joseph W. Morton, A’11, H’56, alumni<br />
secretary, 1924–1956.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Hannah S. Moulton Scholarships, founded in 1914<br />
by Hannah S. Moulton, of Kensington, New Hampshire.<br />
<strong>The</strong> John Martin Mugar Scholarship Fund, established in<br />
2007, to provide need based financial aid to cre<strong>at</strong>e an<br />
intentional, intellectual, and broadly diverse community of<br />
scholars. Proceeds of this fund will be awarded to first<br />
gener<strong>at</strong>ion college-bound students.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Frederick S. and Marie E. Mullen Scholarship,<br />
established in 1989 by Robert F. Mullen, Class of 1965, in<br />
honor of his parents.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Louis Sutliffe Murphy Fund, established in 1977 by<br />
Mrs. Louis S. Murphy, Alexandria, Virginia, in memory of her<br />
husband, Liberal Arts Class of 1901. <strong>The</strong> fund is also in<br />
memory of her son Louis S. Murphy, Jr., who <strong>at</strong>tended <strong>Tufts</strong>.<br />
<strong>The</strong> income is available to undergradu<strong>at</strong>e students who<br />
display need and academic qualific<strong>at</strong>ion to the appropri<strong>at</strong>e<br />
university officials.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Michael and Josephine Nackel Scholars Fund,<br />
established in 2000 to provide scholarships for undergradu<strong>at</strong>e<br />
students of Arab-American heritage or students from<br />
the Medford community.<br />
Rosamond Najjar Scholarship Fund, established in 1998<br />
to offer scholarships with preference to gradu<strong>at</strong>es of<br />
Medford High School.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Michael and Lisa Nash Scholarship, established in<br />
2008, to support the university’s efforts to cre<strong>at</strong>e an<br />
intentional, intellectual, and broadly diverse community of<br />
scholars.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Neubauer Scholars Program, established in 2000 by<br />
Trustee Joseph Neubauer. <strong>The</strong> program <strong>at</strong>tracts and enrolls<br />
intellectually talented students from across the country and<br />
around the world. Neubauer scholars are encouraged to<br />
take advantage of research, internship, and study abroad<br />
opportunities to broaden their experience and perspectives.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Neubauer Scholars Advisory Committee assists<br />
the scholars in the pursuit of scholarly activities.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Newhouse Scholarship, established in 1997 to offer<br />
financial support to low-income students from New York<br />
City.<br />
Murdock H. Newman Scholarship Fund, established in<br />
1997 from the est<strong>at</strong>e of C<strong>at</strong>herine H. Newman in memory<br />
of her husband Murdock H. Newman, A’31, to provide<br />
financial assistance to deserving students, with preference<br />
given to students from Grafton Country, New Hampshire.<br />
<strong>The</strong> New York City Scholarship, established by a priv<strong>at</strong>e<br />
charitable found<strong>at</strong>ion in 1996 to provide financial aid for<br />
needy undergradu<strong>at</strong>e students from New York City high<br />
schools.<br />
*<strong>The</strong> A. Florence Nichols Scholarship Fund, founded in<br />
1960 under the will of A. Florence Nichols of the Class of<br />
1899, the income from which is to be given annually to<br />
some needy and deserving young woman who is working<br />
her way through college.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Malcolm and Mabel Nickerson Scholarship,<br />
established by a bequest in 2009 to be invested in the<br />
general scholarship fund of <strong>Tufts</strong> <strong>University</strong>.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Fred P. Nickless, Jr., Scholarship Fund, established by<br />
the Alumni Associ<strong>at</strong>ion in honor of Fred P. Nickless, Jr., A’48,<br />
G’49, for his long and loyal service to <strong>Tufts</strong> as alumni<br />
secretary for thirty years. <strong>The</strong> income is to be awarded<br />
annually to a deserving undergradu<strong>at</strong>e or gradu<strong>at</strong>e<br />
student(s) in the Colleges of Arts and Sciences. Preference<br />
is to be given to <strong>Tufts</strong> alumni and their children.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Eugene M. Niles Scholarship Fund, founded in 1927<br />
for scholarships and other student aid.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Norcross Scholarship, founded in 1890 by James A.<br />
and Mary E. Norcross, of Worcester.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Ronald F. Noreen Scholarship, established in 2007 to<br />
benefit students in the School of Arts and Sciences and to<br />
increase the diversity, broadly defined, of the <strong>Tufts</strong> student<br />
body.<br />
<strong>The</strong> North Shore <strong>Tufts</strong> Club Scholarship, founded in 1969<br />
for the benefit of students of <strong>Tufts</strong> <strong>University</strong>. Preference is<br />
given to students whose homes are in the communities<br />
served by the club on the North Shore of Massachusetts.<br />
<strong>The</strong> O’Connor-Birmingham Family Endowed<br />
Scholarship, established in 2006 to provide scholarship<br />
funds to increase the diversity of the <strong>Tufts</strong> student body.<br />
Preference will be given to students who have completed<br />
