<strong>The</strong> Department of German, Russian, and Asian<br />
Languages and Liter<strong>at</strong>ures is administr<strong>at</strong>ive home<br />
to the following language and culture programs:<br />
Arabic, Chinese, German, Hebrew, Japanese,<br />
Russian, and Swahili. <strong>The</strong> Department is also<br />
closely connected to various interdepartmental<br />
programs: Africa in the New World (ANW), Asian<br />
Studies, Communic<strong>at</strong>ion and Media Studies<br />
(CMS), Intern<strong>at</strong>ional Rel<strong>at</strong>ions (IR), Intern<strong>at</strong>ional<br />
Literary and Visual Studies (ILVS), Judaic Studies,<br />
and Middle Eastern Studies.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Department offers eight majors and two<br />
gradu<strong>at</strong>e degrees. <strong>The</strong> undergradu<strong>at</strong>e majors are<br />
Chinese, German Language and Liter<strong>at</strong>ure,<br />
German Studies, Japanese, Judaic Studies, ILVS,<br />
Russian Language & Liter<strong>at</strong>ure, and Russian and<br />
East European Studies. <strong>The</strong> gradu<strong>at</strong>e degrees are<br />
M.A. in German and M.A. in German with<br />
Teaching Licensure. Students can minor in Arabic,<br />
Chinese, German, Japanese, Judaic Studies, and<br />
