Scholarship Funds ><br />

<strong>The</strong> George T. Knight Memorial Scholarship, established<br />

in 1951 by classm<strong>at</strong>es, former students, friends, and family<br />

in memory of George Thompson Knight of the class of<br />

1872, professor in the Crane <strong>The</strong>ological School from 1883<br />

to 1910, member of the faculty 1875–1910.<br />

Mabel Hoyle Knipe Scholarship Fund, established in 1998<br />

from the est<strong>at</strong>e of Mabel Hoyle Knipe, J’28, with preference<br />

given to gradu<strong>at</strong>es of Fairhaven High School.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Robert A. Kolankiewicz Scholarship Fund,<br />

established in loving memory by the family, classm<strong>at</strong>es,<br />

and friends of the l<strong>at</strong>e Robert A. Kolankiewicz, Liberal Arts<br />

gradu<strong>at</strong>e of the Class of 1952 and husband of Cynthia<br />

(Reynolds) Kolankiewicz Foss, Jackson College, Class of<br />

1953. <strong>The</strong> scholarship income is to benefit deserving<br />

students particip<strong>at</strong>ing in a <strong>Tufts</strong> ROTC program in the Navy<br />

or Marine Corps in th<strong>at</strong> order. If no ROTC student qualifies<br />

for the award in any given year, it will be given to deserving<br />

undergradu<strong>at</strong>es in the College of Liberal Arts or Jackson<br />

College.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Kovler Family Scholarship Fund, established in 1987<br />

by the Blum-Kovler Found<strong>at</strong>ion <strong>at</strong> the request of Jon<strong>at</strong>han<br />

and Peter Kovler, for the benefit of undergradu<strong>at</strong>e students<br />

in need of financial assistance.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Robert L. Krakoff Memorial Endowed Scholarship,<br />

established in 2008. <strong>The</strong> scholarship benefits students<br />

earning a minor degree in Entrepreneurial Leadership<br />

Studies and intending to pursue entrepreneurship in the<br />

future.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Frieda Kress Scholarship, established in 2006 to<br />

provide need based undergradu<strong>at</strong>e financial aid to<br />

promote diversity <strong>at</strong> <strong>Tufts</strong>.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Michael Kuhn Memorial Financial Aid Fund,<br />

established in 2001 to provide aid to <strong>Tufts</strong> students with<br />

financial need.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Carolyn Guber Langelier Scholarship, established in<br />

2008, to support scholarships within the School of Arts and<br />

Sciences, in order to increase the diversity of the <strong>Tufts</strong><br />

student body.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Landsberger Family Endowed Scholarship,<br />

established in 2007, to support scholarships to help achieve<br />

the educ<strong>at</strong>ional benefits of diversity in the School of Arts<br />

and Sciences.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Rosewell B. Lawrence Scholarship, founded in 1922<br />

by Rosewell B. Lawrence, of Medford, for scholarships and<br />

loans for worthy students. Preference is given to gradu<strong>at</strong>es<br />

of Medford High School already <strong>at</strong>tending <strong>Tufts</strong>.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Dr. Howard L. and Mary McCarthy Leary<br />

Scholarship Fund, established in 1987 by Mrs. Leary for<br />

qualified premedical students in the College of Liberal Arts<br />

and Jackson.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Lebovitz Family Endowed Scholarship, established<br />

in 2008, to support scholarships within the <strong>University</strong> and<br />

to increase the diversity of the <strong>Tufts</strong> undergradu<strong>at</strong>e student<br />

body.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Jack and Lorraine Lee <strong>University</strong> Scholarship,<br />

established in 2001 to provide financial aid to needy<br />

undergradu<strong>at</strong>e students who are residents of New<br />

Hampshire, with preference to students who are in their<br />

second year of employment <strong>at</strong> a New Hampshire golf<br />

course.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Leibowitz Family Endowed Scholarship Fund,<br />

cre<strong>at</strong>ed in 2010 by Dr. Steven R. Leibowitz, A’79, to benefit<br />

undergradu<strong>at</strong>es in the School of Arts and Sciences.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Maud Amelia Leighton Scholarship Gift, the income<br />

from a Trust Fund established by George A. Leighton, of<br />

Los Angeles, California, for the benefit of engineering<br />

students.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Henry Leir Intern<strong>at</strong>ional Scholarship, established in<br />

1999 to provide financial aid for outstanding <strong>Tufts</strong><br />

undergradu<strong>at</strong>e students who wish to study abroad or who<br />

demonstr<strong>at</strong>e commitment to the study of intern<strong>at</strong>ional<br />

affairs.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Allen and Eleanor Lester Scholarship, established by<br />

a bequest in 2009 to benefit undergradu<strong>at</strong>e students <strong>at</strong><br />

<strong>Tufts</strong> <strong>University</strong>.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Alvin Levin Scholarship, established in 1994 to<br />

provide scholarships to women of color enrolled in the<br />

Urban and Environmental Policy program.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Louis Levin Scholarship Fund, a scholarship fund<br />

established in 1961 by William A. Levin of the Class of 1943<br />

in memory of his f<strong>at</strong>her. Income from the fund provides<br />

financial aid for undergradu<strong>at</strong>es, with preference given to<br />

students majoring in one of the sciences.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Jon A. Levy Endowed Scholarship, established in<br />

2012 by Jon A. Levy, E83 to support financial aid for <strong>Tufts</strong><br />

undergradu<strong>at</strong>e students in the School of Engineering.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Blanche M. Lewis Scholarship, established by Gerald<br />

Lewis of the Class of 1954 in honor of his mother, awarded<br />

annually with preference for a young woman showing<br />

promise in liter<strong>at</strong>ure or fine arts, who would be unable to<br />

<strong>at</strong>tend <strong>Tufts</strong> without financial assistance.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Freda Lewis Scholarship, established in 2002 to<br />

provide scholarships for students <strong>at</strong>tending Jackson<br />

College, preference being given to students who are<br />

members of or affili<strong>at</strong>ed with a Universalist Church.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Frank T. Lewis Scholarship Fund, which benefits<br />

engineering students with preference to those majoring in<br />

mechanical engineering.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Leo Rich Lewis Memorial Scholarship, established in<br />
