Scholarship Funds ><br />

<strong>The</strong> Allton T. and Dorothea Danver Williams Scholarship,<br />

established in 1989 by Kenneth D. Williams in honor of his<br />

parents, Allton T., A’19, and Dorothea Danver Williams, J’18,<br />

to support students in good academic standing, with<br />

financial need, pursuing a major in environmental studies.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Willner Family Scholarship, established in 1998 to<br />

provide aid to academically promising students from New<br />

York City with family incomes th<strong>at</strong> are particularly modest.<br />

Additional preference will be given to students showing<br />

promise in the visual or performing arts <strong>at</strong> <strong>Tufts</strong>.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Gladys Emilia Wilson Scholarship, an endowed<br />

scholarship th<strong>at</strong> benefits students <strong>at</strong> the School of Arts and<br />

Sciences. <strong>The</strong> scholarship was established in 2010 with a<br />

gift from the est<strong>at</strong>e of Gladys Emilia Wilson, A’69.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Gary S. Winick Scholarship, established in 2012 by<br />

Hilary Edson Polk, J’84 and Lyon Polk III, to honor the<br />

memory of Gary S. Winick, A’84 and to support financial aid<br />

for <strong>Tufts</strong> undergradu<strong>at</strong>e students in the School of Arts and<br />

Sciences.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Thomas F. Winkler Scholarship, established in 2008,<br />

to provide need-based financial aid to undergradu<strong>at</strong>e<br />

students and to increase the diversity of the <strong>Tufts</strong><br />

undergradu<strong>at</strong>e student body.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Winnick Family Found<strong>at</strong>ion Scholarship, established<br />

in 2000 to provide aid to undergradu<strong>at</strong>e students <strong>at</strong> <strong>Tufts</strong>.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Dara Wolbom Memorial Endowment, established in<br />

1997 in memory of Dara Wolbom, J’99 to provide financial<br />

aid to <strong>Tufts</strong> undergradu<strong>at</strong>es with first preference to female<br />

students in their junior year who have distinguished<br />

themselves in English or journalism.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Norman P. Wood Scholarship, established under the<br />

will of Nellie M. Wood, l<strong>at</strong>e of Northfield, Massachusetts, as<br />

“a scholarship in the Department of Classics to be known as<br />

the Norman P. Wood Scholarship.”<br />

<strong>The</strong> Frank G. Wren Memorial Scholarship, established in<br />

1951 by friends, family, and former students of Frank G.<br />

Wren of the Class of 1894, member of the faculty (1895–<br />

1940), and dean (1907–1939).<br />

<strong>The</strong> Paul I. and Alice T. Wren Memorial Scholarship,<br />

established in 2001 to aid deserving liberal arts and<br />

engineering students.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Joseph N. Wright Memorial Scholarship, for<br />

undergradu<strong>at</strong>e students studying in <strong>Tufts</strong> Programs<br />

Abroad, with preference for those studying in Germany.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Robert Yanofsky, A’38 Endowed Scholarship,<br />

established in 2004, to provide financial aid for undergradu<strong>at</strong>e<br />

students. Preference will be given to students with<br />

limited financial means who possess high academic<br />

potential and a demonstr<strong>at</strong>ed commitment to achieving<br />

scholastic excellence.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Francis Yirrel Scholarship. A scholarship founded in<br />

memory of Francis Yirrel of the Class of 1949, established by<br />

his friends and classm<strong>at</strong>es to assist deserving students.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Doris W. York Endowed Scholarship Fund, established<br />

in 2005 by a bequest from Doris York of Somerville,<br />

Massachusetts to provide financial aid to female students<br />

who <strong>at</strong>tended Somerville High School.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Howard S. Young Scholarship Fund, established in<br />

1982 to provide scholarships for civil engineering students.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Young Men’s Philanthropic League Scholarship,<br />

established in 1960 by the Young Men’s Philanthropic<br />

League of New York, the income from this fund to be used<br />

for scholarships for undergradu<strong>at</strong>e and gradu<strong>at</strong>e students<br />

in <strong>Tufts</strong> <strong>University</strong>.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Stanton “Bud” Yusem Endowed Scholarship,<br />

established in 2000 to provide financial aid to <strong>Tufts</strong><br />

undergradu<strong>at</strong>e students with financial need.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Zeta Psi Class of 1969 Scholarship, established in<br />

2009 to provide scholarships to undergradu<strong>at</strong>e students<br />

with financial need who are likely to contribute to <strong>Tufts</strong>’<br />

educ<strong>at</strong>ional and mission-rel<strong>at</strong>ed goals, including the<br />

benefits associ<strong>at</strong>ed with a diverse student body. Preference<br />

will be given to qualified students who are currently<br />

fr<strong>at</strong>ernity brothers of the Zeta Psi fr<strong>at</strong>ernity.<br />
