Scholarship Funds ><br />

<strong>The</strong> Laurie Bove Scholarship, established in 1996 in<br />

memory of Laurie Bove of the Class of 1984 by her family<br />

and friends, to provide financial aid to female residents of<br />

Medford, who come to <strong>Tufts</strong> with an interest in occup<strong>at</strong>ional<br />

therapy.<br />

<strong>The</strong> William L. Bradley and Clara M. Pizzarello<br />

Scholarship, established in 2011 in memory of Dean Grant<br />

Curtis to benefit undergradu<strong>at</strong>es in the School of Arts and<br />

Sciences.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Ellen F. Bragg Scholarship Fund, founded in 1928 to<br />

provide scholarships for students in the College of Letters<br />

showing the gre<strong>at</strong>est intellectual and moral excellence.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Henry W. Bragg Fund Scholarships, founded in 1936<br />

by Henry W. Bragg.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Brandes Family Endowed Scholarship, established in<br />

2008 to give deserving students an opportunity to <strong>at</strong>tend<br />

<strong>Tufts</strong> <strong>University</strong>.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Dr. and Mrs. William F. Brennan and Family<br />

Scholarship, established in 2002 to provide aid to worthy<br />

and promising undergradu<strong>at</strong>e students who are determined<br />

to be in need of scholarship funds.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Ron Brinn Scholarship Fund, established in 1999 in<br />

honor of Ron Brinn, A’58, <strong>Tufts</strong> Director of Alumni Rel<strong>at</strong>ions<br />

for sixteen years, to provide financial aid to needy students<br />

of the College of Liberal Arts and Jackson and the School of<br />

Engineering.<br />

Budd Family Scholarship, established in 1996 by Edward<br />

H. Budd, A’55, and his family, to aid juniors and seniors with<br />

a GPA of 3.0 or better who have demonstr<strong>at</strong>ed involvement<br />

in and dedic<strong>at</strong>ion to enriching campus life <strong>at</strong> <strong>Tufts</strong>.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Wellington Burnham Fund Scholarships, cre<strong>at</strong>ed by<br />

a bequest from Wellington Burnham of the Class of 1931.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Edith Linwood Bush Scholarship, established during<br />

the Second Century Fund campaign by classm<strong>at</strong>es, former<br />

students, and friends in honor of Edith Linwood Bush of the<br />

Class of 1903, member of the faculty from 1920 to 1952,<br />

and dean of Jackson College from 1925 to 1952.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Richard Perry Bush Scholarships, founded in 1910 by<br />

Mrs. Caroline M. Barnard, of Everett, Massachusetts.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Francis Buttrick Fund for Scholarships, preferably for<br />

men from Waltham, Massachusetts.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Daniel V. Byrne, E’76 Endowed Scholarship in<br />

Mechanical Engineering, established in 2012 to support<br />

students within the Department of Mechanical Engineering.<br />

As a student in Mechanical Engineering, Dan Byrne was<br />

inspired by Dr. Fred Nelson, Dr. John Sununu, and other<br />

faculty members who introduced him to thermodynamics<br />

and Stirling engines. Dan went on to succeed as an<br />

engineer and shortly after, an entrepreneur. Dan has been a<br />

true example of the <strong>Tufts</strong> model of active citizenship—<br />

changing the world through his career as well as through<br />

his personal commitment to the environment, and the<br />

charities and businesses he supports with his time, talent<br />

and resources. Dan’s passion for Mechanical Engineering<br />

inspired him to make this gift to support undergradu<strong>at</strong>e<br />

scholarship.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Godfrey Lowell Cabot Scholarship, established in<br />

1951 by the Cabot Carbon Company in honor of Godfrey<br />

Lowell Cabot, the income to be used as a yearly scholarship<br />

to a deserving student of the School of Engineering.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Cabot Corpor<strong>at</strong>ion Scholarship Fund, established in<br />

1955 by Godfrey L. Cabot, Inc., of Boston, the income to be<br />

used for scholarship aid for deserving students in any school<br />

or department of the university. In making the awards,<br />

preference is to be given to an otherwise qualified son or<br />

daughter of an employee of Godfrey L. Cabot, Inc., and its<br />

subsidiary companies.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Calef Permanent Fund, given by Ira C. Calef in 1917 to<br />

provide scholarships for young men or women.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Callahan-Lee Scholarship Fund, established in 1993<br />

to provide scholarships to undergradu<strong>at</strong>e students in need<br />

of financial aid with preference given to students from<br />

Swampscott and Gardner, Massachusetts, and Windham,<br />

New Hampshire.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Callahan-Lee-Long Endowed Scholarship Fund,<br />

established with a gift from the est<strong>at</strong>e of Mr. John T. Lee, Jr.,<br />

A’50.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Jeanne A. Carpenter Memorial Scholarship,<br />

established in 2007 in memory of Jeanne A. Carpenter, J’74,<br />

to further the <strong>University</strong>’s efforts to cre<strong>at</strong>e an intentional,<br />

intellectual and broadly diverse community of scholars.<br />

<strong>The</strong> John A. C<strong>at</strong>aldo Scholarship, established in 1989 by<br />

Mr. C<strong>at</strong>aldo, E’46, to provide a full-tuition scholarship to be<br />

awarded annually to one or two meritorious students in the<br />

Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Lucille Cesari, J’52, Endowed Scholarship,<br />

established in 2000 to provide scholarships to <strong>Tufts</strong><br />

undergradu<strong>at</strong>e students with financial need.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Annie, Leon, and Madeline Chalfen Fund, endowed<br />

in 1963 for undergradu<strong>at</strong>e scholarships.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Christina and John Chandris Endowed Scholarship<br />

Fund, established in 2011 to provide full tuition scholarships<br />

to selected students who have demonstr<strong>at</strong>ed both<br />

outstanding academic ability and the most extensive need<br />

for financial assistance in order to enroll <strong>at</strong> <strong>Tufts</strong>.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Edwin H. Chapin Memorial Scholarship, founded in<br />

1891 by friends of Edwin Hubbell Chapin, D.D., of New York<br />

City.<br />
