Scholarship Funds ><br />
<strong>The</strong> Joseph D. Pierce Memorial Scholarship, founded in<br />
1898 by the children and other rel<strong>at</strong>ives of J. D. Pierce, D.D.,<br />
of Attleboro, Massachusetts.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Julius Pinkus Scholarships, founded in 1987 from the<br />
est<strong>at</strong>e of Julius Pinkus in memory of Barney and Tobey<br />
Pinkus, Dr. Louis Pinkus, M’25, and Julius Pinkus. <strong>The</strong> income<br />
is divided equally among the School of Medicine, the<br />
College of Liberal Arts, and the Department of Music to be<br />
used as scholarship aid to worthy students.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Percy J. Pitkin Scholarship, founded in 1983 by Percy<br />
J. Pitkin of the Class of 1923.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Frank W. Pote Memorial Fund, established in 1982 in<br />
memory of Frank W. Pote, professor of physics <strong>at</strong> <strong>Tufts</strong> from<br />
1912 to 1953, by his family and friends. <strong>The</strong> income from<br />
this fund is to be utilized to help deserving students who<br />
are majoring in physics.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Marion S. Potter Scholarship Fund, founded in 1958<br />
under the will of Marion S. Potter, to be used to provide<br />
scholarships for worthy students in the College of Liberal<br />
Arts of <strong>Tufts</strong> <strong>University</strong>.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Melvin and Shirley Prague Scholarship, established<br />
in 2000, to be awarded to a member of the <strong>Tufts</strong> student<br />
body who has established and maintained a record of<br />
above average academic performance, has contributed<br />
earnest service to and/or beyond the <strong>Tufts</strong> community, and<br />
has demonstr<strong>at</strong>ed financial need.<br />
<strong>The</strong> <strong>The</strong>resa Winsor Pr<strong>at</strong>t Endowed Scholarship,<br />
established in 2000 in memory of <strong>The</strong>resa Pr<strong>at</strong>t to provide<br />
financial aid for undergradu<strong>at</strong>e students in the Resumed<br />
Educ<strong>at</strong>ion for Adult Learners (REAL) Program.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Douglas and Susan Present Scholarship Fund,<br />
established in 2011 to benefit students in the School of Arts<br />
and Sciences with preference given to academically<br />
qualified alumni of New Jersey SEEDS programs.<br />
<strong>The</strong> David and Ethel Presson Scholarship, established in<br />
1956 by David Presson, of Boston.<br />
<strong>The</strong> John William Priesing and Carl William Priesing<br />
Scholarship, established in 1950 by Carl W. Priesing of the<br />
Class of 1921, in memory of his f<strong>at</strong>her. <strong>The</strong> name of Carl W.<br />
Priesing was added in 1976 in honor of Mr. Priesing’s<br />
fifty-fifth reunion year by his son.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Jay Pritzker Scholarship, established in 2002 as a<br />
m<strong>at</strong>ching challenge grant to support need-based financial<br />
aid th<strong>at</strong> will be awarded to promote the achievement of<br />
the educ<strong>at</strong>ional benefits of diversity <strong>at</strong> <strong>Tufts</strong>. Scholars are<br />
named for Jay Pritzker, Howard Hunter, or the names<br />
chosen by donors of qualifying gifts.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Paul Pryor Scholarship Fund, established in 1988 by<br />
the est<strong>at</strong>e of Paul I. Pryor, A’18, for the benefit of deserving<br />
male students in the College of Liberal Arts with preference<br />
given to those active in extracurricular activities.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Carolyn Fraser Pulling Scholarship Fund, established<br />
in 1980 to aid worthy students by bequest of Mrs. Arthur<br />
(Carolyn Fraser) Pulling, Women of Arts, Class of 1908.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Gregory and Christine Randolph Scholarship,<br />
established in 2008, to provide scholarship support for<br />
students who have demonstr<strong>at</strong>ed financial need.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Saul C. Ravitch Memorial Scholarship, established in<br />
1952 by Mrs. Sylvia Ravitch in memory of her husband Saul<br />
C. Ravitch of the Class of 1922.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Reed Family Endowed Scholarship Fund, established<br />
in 2010 by Bruce N. Reed, E’47, in honor of his family and in<br />
support of undergradu<strong>at</strong>e scholarships <strong>at</strong> <strong>Tufts</strong>, with<br />
preference to students who are descendants of <strong>Tufts</strong> Naval<br />
V-12 and Naval ROTC participants during the years 1941 to<br />
1948.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Joel Reed Memorial Scholarship, established in 1988<br />
to provide a scholarship fund for commuting students who<br />
exemplify Joel Reed’s academic diligence and community<br />
service, thereby encouraging this effort and ensuring th<strong>at</strong><br />
Joel’s name and spirit live on.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Rennert Family Scholarship, established in 2008, to<br />
support scholarships within the School of Arts and Sciences.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Resnek Family Scholarship Fund, established in 1988<br />
by Frank, Barbara, and Paul Resnek, A’97, to provide tuition<br />
assistance for talented students <strong>at</strong>tending <strong>Tufts</strong> <strong>University</strong>,<br />
with preference to citizens of the United St<strong>at</strong>es.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Joel W. and Marion Newhall Reynolds Scholarship,<br />
established in 1951 by Joel W. Reynolds, Jr., of the Class of<br />
1923 and Marion Newhall Reynolds, Jackson Class of 1924.<br />
<strong>The</strong> income from this fund is to be divided equally each<br />
year between a student of the School of Engineering and a<br />
student of Jackson College.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Rhode Island Scholarship, founded in 1899 by several<br />
persons in Rhode Island.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Mary A. Richardson Scholarship, founded in 1904 by<br />
Mrs. Mary A. Richardson, of Worcester, Massachusetts.<br />
<strong>The</strong> William B. Richardson Scholarship, established in<br />
1952 by William B. Richardson of the Class of 1915.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Rittenburg Family Scholarship Fund, established in<br />
1989 by members of the Rittenburg family to provide<br />
scholarships to deserving students of the School of<br />
Engineering. Scholarships shall be awarded by the Dean<br />
and the Office of Financial Aid.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Pilar Crespi Robert Scholarship Fund, established in<br />
2003 as part of the Pritzker Challenge to benefit outstanding<br />
undergradu<strong>at</strong>e students of African American, Hispanic<br />
American, and N<strong>at</strong>ive American heritage.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Rebecca T. Robinson Scholarship, founded in 1890<br />
by Charles Robinson, LL.D., of Newton, Massachusetts.<br />
