Scholarship Funds ><br />

<strong>The</strong> Moses Day Scholarship, founded in 1880 by Moses<br />

Day, of Roxbury, Massachusetts.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Stephen G. Demirjian Scholarship, established in<br />

2001 to provide aid to needy students of Armenian<br />

heritage first and secondarily to students of Greek heritage.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Devejian Family Scholarship Fund, established in<br />

2010 by a bequest from Mr. and Mrs. Robert Devejian, E’44,<br />

to provide scholarships for needy students in the <strong>Tufts</strong><br />

School of Engineering.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Dewar Scholarship, established in 1990 by the Dewar<br />

Found<strong>at</strong>ion. Preference in awarding the scholarship is<br />

given to gradu<strong>at</strong>es of Oneonta Senior High School,<br />

Oneonta, New York.<br />

*<strong>The</strong> Cora Polk Dewick Scholarship, established during<br />

the Second Century Fund campaign by classm<strong>at</strong>es and<br />

friends in honor of Cora Polk Dewick of the Class of 1896,<br />

Alumni Trustee 1920–1940.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Jeannie Diefenderfer Scholarship, established in<br />

2008 to support scholarships with the School of Engineering.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Leonard A. DiLorenzo, E’66 and Annmarie P. Garceau<br />

Endowed Scholarship Fund, cre<strong>at</strong>ed in 2010 to provide<br />

financial aid for undergradu<strong>at</strong>es in the School of Engineering,<br />

with the hope th<strong>at</strong> this scholarship would encourage<br />

female students to pursue engineering studies <strong>at</strong> <strong>Tufts</strong>.<br />

<strong>The</strong> C<strong>at</strong>herine P. and Arland A. Dirlam Scholarship,<br />

established in 1949 by C<strong>at</strong>herine Price Dirlam, Class of<br />

1927, and Arland A. Dirlam, of the Class of 1926, the income<br />

to be awarded in altern<strong>at</strong>e years to a student in Jackson<br />

College and to a student in the School of Engineering.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Leon E. Dix Memorial Scholarship.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Frank C. Doble Scholarship, established in 1997 in<br />

memory of Frank Currier Doble, founder of the Doble<br />

Engineering Company, and a recipient of two <strong>Tufts</strong> degrees:<br />

bachelor of science in electrical engineering in 1911, and<br />

an honorary doctor of science in 1962. <strong>The</strong> income is<br />

awarded to worthy undergradu<strong>at</strong>e students in the<br />

Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Doherty Family Scholarship, awarded with<br />

preference to students from Medford, Massachusetts. If in a<br />

given year no qualified students from Medford can be<br />

identified, preference will be given to students from<br />

surrounding communities. Preference will also be given to<br />

students who have wide-ranging interests and have proven<br />

themselves to be driven, energetic, and of high leadership<br />

potential.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Abraham and Marianna Dranetz Endowed<br />

Scholarship, established in 2004 to provide scholarship to<br />

students in the <strong>Tufts</strong> School of Engineering who demon-<br />

str<strong>at</strong>e financial need and high academic achievement.<br />

Preference is given to students enrolled in biomedical<br />

research programs in the engineering school.<br />

<strong>The</strong> John Druker and Bertram A. Druker Scholarship<br />

Fund, the income to be used for scholarships or loans as<br />

determined by the director of the Office of Financial Aid.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Priscilla N. Dunne Scholarship Fund, established in<br />

1980 by Ms. Dunne, J’75, for students demonstr<strong>at</strong>ing need.<br />

Preference is given to those majoring in psychology.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Elizabeth and Maxwell W. Dybiec Endowed<br />

Scholarship Fund, established in 1999 to be used for<br />

educ<strong>at</strong>ional and scholarship purposes.<br />

<strong>The</strong> William F. Eastwood A’65 Scholarship, established<br />

on the occasion of his retirement in 2002, in honor of Bill<br />

Eastwood, A’65, who worked in the <strong>Tufts</strong> Financial Aid<br />

Office for thirty-four years and who served as Director of<br />

Financial Aid for fifteen of those years. Preference shall be<br />

given to students with financial need from the North Shore<br />

of Massachusetts or the Upper Valley of Vermont and New<br />

Hampshire.<br />

<strong>The</strong> George W. E<strong>at</strong>on Fund, established in 1942 by<br />

bequest of George W. E<strong>at</strong>on, of Peabody, Massachusetts,<br />

the income to be expended in aiding poor and worthy<br />

students to secure an educ<strong>at</strong>ion <strong>at</strong> <strong>Tufts</strong> College.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Carlos P. Echeverria Scholarship, established in 1951<br />

by Carlos P. Echeverria of the Class of 1912.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Thomas R. B. Edmands and Abbie Whittmore<br />

Edmands Scholarship Fund, established in 1973 by Anne<br />

Edmands Hall in memory of her parents.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Eliot-Pearson Scholarship, awarded to a student<br />

major in the Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Development.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Edward A. Ellis Scholarship, established in 2008, to<br />

support promising and deserving students. <strong>The</strong> scholarship<br />

will be awarded to undergradu<strong>at</strong>es in any class and may be<br />

continued for up to four years as long as the recipients<br />

remain in good standing.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Susan F. Emerson Scholarship, established by<br />

provision in the will of Susan F. Emerson, of Boston. To be<br />

awarded annually to a student in <strong>Tufts</strong> College who <strong>at</strong>tains<br />

distinction in <strong>at</strong>hletics as well as in scholarship.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Frederick J. Emmett Scholarship, established in 1991<br />

to benefit students in the <strong>Tufts</strong> School of Engineering.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Environmental Engineering Scholarship,<br />

established in 1990 by Martha M. Wyckoff E’77 to provide<br />

scholarships for undergradu<strong>at</strong>e engineering students who<br />

are pursuing an interdisciplinary approach to the study of<br />

the environment.<br />
