Scholarship Funds ><br />

<strong>The</strong> Emily Graham Rose Memorial Scholarship,<br />

established in 1965, for the benefit of deserving students in<br />

Jackson College and <strong>Tufts</strong> College.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Gertrude Rubel Scholarship, established in 1998 to<br />

provide financial aid for undergradu<strong>at</strong>e students from<br />

Medford and Somerville, Massachusetts.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Elbridge Rust Scholarship Fund, founded in 1926 by<br />

Elbridge Rust, of Peabody, Massachusetts.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Ankur and Mari Sahu Endowed Scholarship Fund,<br />

established in 2011 to support scholarships within the<br />

School of Arts and Sciences. Students must be eligible for<br />

financial aid and will demonstr<strong>at</strong>e superior ability,<br />

achievement and potential for leadership, with preference<br />

to female students from South Asian countries.<br />

David and Gertrude M. Saklad Fund, established in 1990<br />

under the will of David Saklad, E’21, to provide scholarships<br />

to students in engineering science and computer science<br />

who have completed freshman year, have shown academic<br />

skill, and require financial assistance.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Lori Winters Samuels and Ted Samuels Family<br />

Scholarship, established in 2006 to provide need based<br />

undergradu<strong>at</strong>e financial aid to promote diversity <strong>at</strong> <strong>Tufts</strong>.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Herbert J. and Harriet S. Sandberg Family<br />

Scholarship, established in 2004 to provide scholarship to<br />

African American, N<strong>at</strong>ive American, and Hispanic American<br />

students with financial need. Preference is given to students<br />

meeting these criteria who have gradu<strong>at</strong>ed from Medford<br />

High School in Medford, Massachusetts.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Albert W. Sayles Scholarship, founded in 1899 by<br />

Albert W. Sayles, of Lowell, Massachusetts.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Sarah E. Sayles Memorial Scholarship, founded in<br />

1891 by Albert W. Sayles, of Lowell, Massachusetts.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Scaramucci Family Endowed Scholarship, established<br />

in 2006 for the benefit of undergradu<strong>at</strong>e students in<br />

the School of Arts and Sciences and to increase the<br />

diversity of the student body.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Irving and Hannah Schwartz Scholarship, established<br />

in 1951 by Joseph and Irving Schwartz of the Class of<br />

1937, in honor of their parents and in honor of<br />

Dr. Siegfried Thannhauser.<br />

<strong>The</strong> William and Lillian Schwartz Student Scholarship,<br />

founded in 1984 for the benefit of needy and worthy<br />

students.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Scott Fund, established in 1932 by the will of<br />

Augustus E. Scott, of Lexington, Massachusetts.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Laura A. Scott Scholarship, founded in 1890 by<br />

Mrs. Laura A. Scott, of Ridgefield, Connecticut.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Segalas Family Endowed Scholarship Fund,<br />

established in 2007 to increase the diversity of the<br />

undergradu<strong>at</strong>e student body.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Margaret and Donald Segur Scholarship, established<br />

in 2000 to provide support to students from Armenia<br />

<strong>at</strong> the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy or <strong>at</strong> the<br />

College of Liberal Arts and Jackson College, who are<br />

studying political science, economics, prelaw, or journalism.<br />

Second preference goes to students of Armenian descent<br />

<strong>at</strong> the Fletcher School, and third preference goes to<br />

undergradu<strong>at</strong>e students of Armenian descent <strong>at</strong> the<br />

College of Liberal Arts and Jackson College, who are<br />

studying political science, economics, prelaw, or journalism.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Usha and William Sellers Scholarship, established in<br />

2009 to provide financial aid to intern<strong>at</strong>ional undergradu<strong>at</strong>e<br />

students coming to study <strong>at</strong> <strong>Tufts</strong> from India, with<br />

particular preference to students who are Dalit and/or<br />

come from an impoverished background.<br />

<strong>The</strong> William J. Sen Scholarship Fund, established in 1982<br />

by William J. Sen, E’40. <strong>The</strong> income of this fund is to be used<br />

annually to aid students of the School of Engineering, with<br />

preference to undergradu<strong>at</strong>es and minority students.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Evelyn and Joseph Shapiro Endowed Scholarship,<br />

established in 2007, to provide annual scholarship funds to<br />

undergradu<strong>at</strong>e students who are in good academic<br />

standing.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Frank S. and Eva A. Shapiro Scholarship Fund,<br />

established in 1955 by Frank S. Shapiro of the Class of 1916,<br />

the income to assist worthy undergradu<strong>at</strong>e students with<br />

preference being given to students interested in chemistry.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Mildred and Sumner Shapiro Scholarship,<br />

established in 1997 to provide financial assistance to<br />

students in the <strong>Tufts</strong> College of Liberal Arts.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Edwin A. Shaw Memorial Scholarship, established in<br />

1952 by former students, family, and friends in memory of<br />

Edwin Adams Shaw of the Class of 1898 and professor of<br />

educ<strong>at</strong>ion, 1919–1950.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Henry J. and Louise O. Shea Scholarship, established<br />

in 1987 to provide scholarships to needy and deserving<br />

students.<br />

<strong>The</strong> William H. Sherman Scholarship, founded in 1903 by<br />

William H. Sherman, of Cambridge, Massachusetts.<br />

<strong>The</strong> A. Shuman Scholarship, founded in 1923 by A.<br />

Shuman of Boston.<br />

*<strong>The</strong> Hettie Lang Shuman Memorial Fund, founded in<br />

1905 by Mr. A. Shuman in memory of his wife. <strong>The</strong> interest<br />

of this fund is expended annually in aiding deserving<br />

women students.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Frank and Virginia Siegel Scholarship, established in<br />

2012 by <strong>Tufts</strong> parents, Frank and Virginia Siegel, A’15P to<br />

support financial aid for <strong>Tufts</strong> undergradu<strong>at</strong>e students in<br />

the School of Arts and Sciences.<br />
