� Types of identify<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>formation that should not be divulged<br />

� When to contact an adult about a problem<br />

� Obscene and/or threaten<strong>in</strong>g messages<br />

� Requests for personal meet<strong>in</strong>gs<br />

� When not to use IT (cell phones <strong>in</strong> the car)<br />

5.5 Conclusion<br />

Adolescent medic<strong>in</strong>e provides challenges <strong>in</strong> cl<strong>in</strong>ical data management because of:<br />

The chang<strong>in</strong>g cl<strong>in</strong>ical <strong>in</strong>formation needs as children transition to adults<br />

The security and privacy needs for <strong>in</strong>formation access as children grow to the<br />

age of majority and deal with sensitive health issues<br />

The need to consider these issues <strong>in</strong> design<strong>in</strong>g and implement<strong>in</strong>g health <strong>in</strong>formation<br />

systems that address the needs of adolescent patients<br />
