3. There is significant evidence that the library<br />

and learning support services units use a<br />

variety <strong>of</strong> evaluation methods to assess how<br />

well their services, resources, and facilities<br />

contribute to the achievement <strong>of</strong> student<br />

learning outcomes. Departmental and program<br />

faculty, students, and other staff are involved<br />

in these evaluations. There are many examples<br />

<strong>of</strong> how the results <strong>of</strong> these evaluations are<br />

used to improve services and programs,<br />

especially the information competency and<br />

research skills and the student retention and<br />

success instructional <strong>of</strong>ferings. However, the<br />

<strong>College</strong> should establish a regular cycle<br />

for evaluating student computer labs and<br />

establish a standard replacement cycle for<br />

instructional computers and peripherals.<br />

In conjunction with the Office <strong>of</strong> Research,<br />

Planning and Grants, a regular cycle for<br />

administering faculty, staff, and student<br />

surveys should be established to assess<br />

needs and satisfaction with LLR services.<br />
