This includes 35 Sites of Nature Conservation Importance (SNCIs). These sites are designated locally for their wildlife importance. Two Local Nature Reserves (LNRs) also exist in the Borough. LRNs generally support wildlife or geological features that are of special interest locally. Figure 19- National and County designations in the Borough 10.9 The Surrey Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP) identifies targets and actions for priority habitats and species in Surrey and delivers actions through partnership working. The aims of the Surrey BAP are to conserve and enhance the biological diversity of Surrey and contribute to conserving and enhancing both national and international biodiversity. 10.10 The Urban Biodiversity Action Plan (UBAP) for Surrey aims to safeguard and enhance the biodiversity found where people live and in doing so improve the quality of peoples’ lives through contact with, appreciation of, and involvement in nature conservation.
