The SGG also examined the impact of the
system of victim participation under the Rome
Statute on the efficiency of the criminal process.
It observed that, although at present victim
participation does not impact upon the length
of proceedings, as the Court is faced with a rapid
increase in the number of victim participants
it may be useful to evaluate the impact of
the current system on the work of the Court,
specifically requesting the input from judges. 342
