As of 31 July 2011, nine sexual and gender-based violence projects— eight in <strong>the</strong> DRC<br />
and <strong>on</strong>e in Uganda—are being supported by <strong>the</strong> earmarked funding. 105 The estimated<br />
number of beneficiaries reached by earmarked SGBV projects in 2011 is 32,499 (28,143<br />
in nor<strong>the</strong>rn Uganda 106 and 4,356 in DRC 107 ). As in 2010, <strong>the</strong> majority of <strong>the</strong> beneficiaries<br />
reached in nor<strong>the</strong>rn Uganda are community peacebuilders (26,144), followed by victims<br />
of SGBV (1,999). 108 These figures were respectively 17,732 and 1,670 in 2010. 109 In<br />
<strong>the</strong> DRC, it is estimated that 725 beneficiaries bel<strong>on</strong>g to <strong>the</strong> category of community<br />
peacebuilders while <strong>the</strong> majority of individuals directly benefiting from earmarked<br />
SGBV projects are victims of SGBV (2,738), followed by children of SGBV victims (850) and<br />
child mo<strong>the</strong>rs (43). 110 In 2010, earmarked projects in <strong>the</strong> DRC reached 725 community<br />
peacebuilders, 2,158 victims/survivors of SGBV, 907 children of SGBV victims and 187<br />
child mo<strong>the</strong>rs. 111<br />
In additi<strong>on</strong> to <strong>the</strong> funds received in resp<strong>on</strong>se to <strong>the</strong> September 2008 appeal to assist<br />
victims of sexual violence, in 2010, <strong>the</strong> Ne<strong>the</strong>rlands pledged USD57,000 for a project<br />
focused <strong>on</strong> child soldiers and Germany pledged €155,000 to support a Legal Advisor to<br />
assist with preparati<strong>on</strong>s for administering reparati<strong>on</strong>s. In 2011, Germany pledged an<br />
additi<strong>on</strong>al €110,000 to support <strong>the</strong> Legal Advisor through to <strong>the</strong> end of <strong>the</strong> year. 112<br />
A three-m<strong>on</strong>th Call for Expressi<strong>on</strong>s of Interest to support victims of sexual and genderbased<br />
violence in CAR was launched <strong>on</strong> 6 May 2011. The final list of submissi<strong>on</strong>s will<br />
be presented to <strong>the</strong> Board of Directors following <strong>the</strong> technical review by <strong>the</strong> Secretariat<br />
of <strong>the</strong> Fund. Following <strong>the</strong> Board approval, a filing will be initiated with <strong>the</strong> Pre-Trial<br />
Chamber for observati<strong>on</strong>s from all <strong>the</strong> parties to <strong>the</strong> Case and for final approval by <strong>the</strong><br />
Chamber. It is expected that activities in CAR will start at <strong>the</strong> beginning of 2012. 113<br />
The goal of <strong>the</strong> Call for Expressi<strong>on</strong>s of Interest is to 'provide integrated rehabilitati<strong>on</strong><br />
assistance to victim survivors of SGBV, <strong>the</strong>ir families and affected communities so that<br />
<strong>the</strong>y are able to move from victim-hood to stability as survivors.' 114<br />
At <strong>the</strong> beginning of 2010, <strong>the</strong> TFV initiated a l<strong>on</strong>gitudinal evaluati<strong>on</strong> of a sample of<br />
2,585 victims benefitting from <strong>the</strong> Fund’s assistance throughout nor<strong>the</strong>rn Uganda and<br />
<strong>the</strong> DRC to improve <strong>the</strong> understanding of <strong>the</strong> impact that <strong>the</strong> TFV is having <strong>on</strong> affected<br />
