In addition to recruiting new faculty, as part of its commitment to professional development,
Humber provides tuition assistance and sabbaticals for current faculty members who are
committed to pursuing doctoral degrees in appropriate areas of study.
Specific Hiring Plans for Core Courses:
The hiring plan is divided into 4 sections:
Section One – The table in the first section shows the proposed academic credential required of
faculty teaching each of the core courses in the degree.
Section Two – This section details the current Bachelor of Behavioural Science faculty
complement, the number of sections to be delivered by faculty with doctorates and the
anticipated number of new hires required.
Section Three – In this section of the hiring plan, a sample plan has been created to show how
this program could be delivered using existing resources. As well, the plan highlights where
gaps occur and hiring is needed. This plan represents Humber‟s best projections for the
program.
Section Four – This section summarizes the anticipated results of faculty recruitment and
development plans.
SECTION ONE:
Required Qualification by Core Course
Humber is fully committed to having 50% of the courses delivered by a faculty member who
holds a doctorate degree. The following chart identifies those courses where we propose to
require a Ph.D. as the required credential. Humber does not currently meet this target, but
proposes to achieve it no later than the fourth year of operation.
