If a speaker employs an expression or construction that triggers a<br />

presupposition %, X, he indicates that he takes % X to to be given in in the context in in<br />

which it occurs -— i.e. X % must be given in one of the DRSs that are accessible<br />

to %'s X's home DRS. But meanwhile the notion of context has become an<br />

ambiguous one: there is a narrow <strong>and</strong> a wide notion of context, defined by<br />

strict <strong>and</strong> weak accessibility, respectively. However, there are a priori<br />

grounds to expect that it is the wider notion of context which is relevant in<br />

this connection. In an important sense, everything that is contained in a DRS<br />
