Information technologies are a major source of diversity in journalism. Not only<br />

because of <strong>the</strong> different media that arise, but by <strong>the</strong> new dynamics of work and<br />

incorporate new requirements imposed on expressive journalistic message (design,<br />

writing ...) The social context of globalization, new technologies have led to o<strong>the</strong>r<br />

forms production, distribution and reception of information, <strong>the</strong> three phases which<br />

divides <strong>the</strong> process of journalistic communication.<br />

Every day new devices and tools are added to <strong>the</strong> above, in an exponential growth<br />

that sometimes appears to cause an excess of choices and opportunities for<br />

journalists and <strong>the</strong> audience know.<br />

The aim of this paper is to categorize <strong>the</strong> new technologies in <strong>the</strong> work of <strong>the</strong><br />

journalist, to realize <strong>the</strong> impact <strong>the</strong>y have had in each and <strong>the</strong> role that new<br />

technologies play. We carried out this study from a descriptive and exploratory<br />

approach to structure in <strong>the</strong> new technologies employed categories.<br />

This list of technologies arises from two perspectives: from <strong>the</strong> media and from <strong>the</strong><br />

audience. In <strong>the</strong> production examines <strong>the</strong> impact of information technology in preproduction,<br />

production and postproduction. In analyzing <strong>the</strong> distribution channels,<br />

transmission technologies and formats. Finally, at <strong>the</strong> reception, performing a<br />

registration of new portable devices or new media.<br />
