Several process levels within the company are required for setting up a value-based<br />

management on th<strong>is</strong> foundation. Normally, a company starts by defining its core<br />

values in the form of a code (1. codification), followed by the next step cons<strong>is</strong>ting of<br />

the implementation into the work processes (2. implementation). For example, th<strong>is</strong><br />

concerns labour agreements or work instructions as well as specifications for<br />

handling <strong>CSR</strong> measures. Steps 3. Systemat<strong>is</strong>e and 4. Organ<strong>is</strong>e refer to<br />

management systems and responsibilities for the execution of the web-based<br />

management within the company.<br />

Exerc<strong>is</strong>e 1.4. (approximately 30 minutes)<br />

Reproduce a "Value square" in the seminar room by d<strong>is</strong>tributing four flip chart papers<br />

labelled with the following titles:<br />

1. Performance values<br />

2. Communication values<br />

3. Cooperation values<br />

4. Moral values<br />

For the brainstorming concerning the "Value square", select a <strong>CSR</strong> measure from the<br />

corporate movies of th<strong>is</strong> compendium. Ask your group to write in bullet form on the<br />

"Value square" which values can be positively influenced with the the corresponding<br />

<strong>CSR</strong> measure within the company. D<strong>is</strong>cuss the results within the group after<br />

approximately 20 minutes of brainstorming.<br />
