FIVE-YEAR PLAN (2007-2012)<br />

I. AIMS<br />

1. To provide information about studies and careers<br />

2. To provide professional guidance and assistance to help students make appropriate<br />

education and career choices<br />

3. To equip students to adapt to the changing society<br />

4. To develop the Alumni Association<br />

II. SITUATIONAL ANALYSIS<br />

1. Strengths<br />

a. Updated and adequate educational and career information is available and<br />

accessible to committee members and students<br />

b. Committee members are professional and responsible. They take part in<br />

different types of training courses in order to keep up with the latest trends in<br />

study paths and career information<br />

c. The harmonious relationship between committee members and students is<br />

beneficial for counselling<br />

d. Senior-form students are concerned about the changing world and are willing to<br />

learn more in order to equip themselves<br />

e. Alumni are willing to offer assistance to the school. They are often invited to<br />

be the guest speakers to share updated educational and career information<br />

2. Weaknesses<br />

a. Junior-form students are relatively less willing to search for educational or<br />

career information in order to plan for their future<br />

b. Alumni are busy with their studies or careers. It is quite difficult to arrange<br />

programmes that suit their convenience<br />

III. OBJECTIVES<br />

1. To collect, update and disseminate information on further education and careers<br />

2. To motivate students to search and ask for updated education and career<br />

information actively<br />

3. To provide professional guidance and counselling to assist students to understand<br />

their interest, abilities, needs and priorities in relation to further education and<br />

careers<br />

4. To equip students with skills, a positive attitude and values to facilitate their future<br />

educational and career plan<br />

5. To facilitate students and graduates application for schools or jobs<br />

6. To collaborate with the Alumni Association and strengthen the link between the<br />

school and alumni<br />
