FIVE-YEAR PLAN (2007-2012)<br />
1. To help students develop good hobbies and cultivate their talents<br />
2. To help students attain a balanced intellectual, physical, social and aesthetic<br />
development through an informal curriculum<br />
3. To cultivate and develop students’ leadership skills<br />
4. To help students spend leisure in a meaningful, creative and satisfying way<br />
5. To nurture the qualities of Shatin Tsung-tsiners among students<br />
II.<br />
SITUATIONAL ANALYSIS<br />
1. Strengths<br />
a. Teacher-advisers are responsible<br />
b. A wide range of activities are provided for students<br />
c. Relationship between teachers and students is good<br />
d. Students enjoy participating in sports activities<br />
e. House committee members are responsible and can handle house affairs<br />
independently<br />
f. Teachers can choose to lead the groups according to their wishes<br />
2. Weaknesses<br />
a. There are not enough venues for sports activities<br />
b. Some student leaders lack experience / skill in organizing activities<br />
c. Some students cannot join all the activity groups they want to because of heavy<br />
academic workload<br />
III. OBJECTIVES<br />
1. To encourage students to participate actively in extra-curricular activities and to<br />
actualize the spirit of ‘Shatin Tsung-tsiners’<br />
2. To help students enhance their sense of belonging to the school<br />
3. To offer a wide range of diversified activities<br />
4. To balance the variety of activity types and the number of participants in each type<br />
5. To arouse general awareness towards safety precautions in organizing activities<br />
6 To help students strengthen their self-confidence and abilities in leadership<br />
7. To broaden students’ horizons by encouraging them to participate actively in<br />
activities and to enhance their appreciation towards arts<br />
8. To provide leadership training for student leaders<br />
