a breed<strong>in</strong>g population due to poor choice of<br />

release site (not past breed<strong>in</strong>g site for the species,<br />

exposed to human disturbance, potentially poor<br />

quality habitat) and poor preparation, which did<br />

not <strong>in</strong>clude identification and rectification of the<br />

factors that caused ext<strong>in</strong>ction <strong>in</strong> the first place [31] .<br />

A re<strong>in</strong>troduction on Corsica <strong>in</strong> 2001 also failed to<br />

produce a self-susta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g population [32] . Re<strong>in</strong>troduction<br />
