Delusions
I was too cold. White air sucked the wind from my lungs. I
shivered, and I hurt. Gid came and pushed his hand into my chest.
My ribs shattered in violet shards. My guts turned to water. I felt as
if I’d shit myself. Gid spun me in tight circles.
“All of this is yours,” he said. “Just take it.”
My legs cramped. My hands hurt. Blood poured from my
palms, the arches of my feet. He pressed his dick against my ass.
“Stop,” I said.
My voice was weak and thin. The words rose like fog in a
wind, breaking apart. He reached around and shoved a finger into
me. Ice cut through my thighs. I screamed. I screamed and
screamed.
“This is your world,” he said. “This is all you have.”
Somehow, I woke. A tree limb tapped on the glass. I felt
for Tayla but she wasn’t there. I was too scared to sleep. I was too
scared to get up. Everything hurt. Everything pressed on me. All I
could do was cry and wait. Tayla came out of the bathroom.
“Hey,” she said. “What’s wrong?”
She lifted my face to look at her. All I could do was babble.
“It’s okay,” she said.
She had no idea.
“Butter,” Tayla said. “I’m right here.”
Her warm hands saved me. When she kissed me, my chest
opened. My heart beat.
“I’m dying,” I said.
She shook her head.
“No,” she said. “It only feels like it.”
