A PROCLAMATION.<br />

High Commissioner.<br />

WHEREAS by an Order of His Majesty in Council<br />

bearing date the 6th day of July, 1907, and<br />

providing for the Government of the Island of Cyprus,<br />

it was, among other things, ordered that the High<br />

Commissioner should by Proclamation appoint the<br />

place and time for holding each Session of the Council,<br />

and that Sessions should be holden accordingly.<br />

Now, <strong>THE</strong>EBPORB, I, Malcolm Stevenson, Knight<br />

Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint<br />

Michael and Saint George, the said High Commissioner,<br />

in exercise of the powers vested in me in that<br />

behalf do hereby proclaim and appoint that the Session<br />

of the Legislative Council which was adjourned on the<br />

17th day of February, 1925, shall be resumed at<br />

Nicosia on Thursday the 19th day of March, 1925, at<br />

half-past nine o'clock in the morning.<br />

Given at Nicosia, this 6th day of March, <strong>1925.</strong><br />

ORDER OF HIS EXCELLENCY <strong>THE</strong> HIGH<br />

COMMISSIONER IN COUNCIL.—No. 1045.<br />

High Commissioner.<br />

IN exercise of the powers vested in him by the<br />

Customs, Excise, and Revenue Law, 1899, and<br />

otherwise and with the advice of the Executive Council,<br />

His Excellency the High Commissioner is pleased to<br />

order and it is hereby ordered that the wharfage dues<br />

on the exportation of ochre stored in warehouses and<br />

shipped from any Government Pier shall be ^cp. per ton.<br />

ORDER OF HIS EXCELLENCY <strong>THE</strong> HIGH<br />

COMMISSIONER IN COUNCIL.-No. 1046.<br />

TITH ERE AS by Section 1 of the Tithe Law, 1881,<br />

VV it is provided that the tithe on all crops and<br />

other produce shall be taken in money and not in kind<br />

unless the High Commissioner in Council shall, prior<br />

to the month of April, in any year, direct that the<br />

tithe on any crop or other produce for that year shall<br />

be taken in kind,<br />

And Whereas it has been shewn that it is expedient<br />

that the tithe on all wheat, barley, vetches, oats, rye,<br />

favetta and vikos for the year 1925 should be taken<br />

in kind and not in money.<br />

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers vested<br />

in him by the Tithe Law, 1881, and with the advice<br />

of the Executive Council, His Excellency the High<br />

Commissioner is pleased to order, and it is hereby<br />

ordered, tliat the tithe on all wheat, barley, vetches,<br />

oats, rye, favetta and vikos for the year 1925 shall be<br />

taken in kind and not in money.<br />

ORDER OF HIS EXCELLENCY <strong>THE</strong> HIGH<br />

COMMISSIONER IN COUNCIL.—No. 1047.<br />

High Commissioner.<br />

IN exercise of the powers vested in him by the<br />

Provisional Powers Laws, 1919 to 1925,<br />

His Excellency the High Commissioner, with the<br />

advice of the Executive Council, is pleased to<br />

order and it is hereby ordered as follows •—<br />

1. That n(->thing in this Order in Council contained<br />

shall affect the prohibition ot the exportation<br />

of goods contained in any Law or Regulation<br />

of the Island of Cyprus.*<br />

2. That the exportation of the goods mentioned<br />

in the First Schedule hereto be prohibited<br />

to all destinations.<br />

3. That the exportation of the goods mentioned<br />

in the Second Schedule hereto be prohibited to<br />

all ports and destinations abroad other than<br />

ports an^ destinations in the United Kingdom,<br />

Hritish Possessions and Protectorates.<br />

4. The Order in Council, No. 970, dated the<br />

31st December, 1923, and published in the Cyprus<br />

Gazette didAiedi the 31st day of December, 1923,<br />

is hereby cancelled.<br />

*Note :—The following are prohibitions imposed by the<br />

Statute Laws of Cyprus—<br />

All timber, charcoal, firewood, bark, tar, pitch and<br />

resin being the produce of Cyprus except with the<br />

license of the High Commissioner. Law 24 of 1879 as<br />

amended liy Law 10 of 1924.<br />

Manure. Law 24 of 1879.<br />

Antiquities. Law 4 of 1905.<br />

Game and skins or eggs of game or wild birds. Law<br />

38 of 1922.<br />
