A BILL
To REGULATE THE IMPORTATIOI^, EXPORTATION, MANU­
FACTURE, SALE AND USE OP OPIUM AND OTHER
DANGEROUS DRUGS.
BE it enacted by His Excellency tLe Governor and
Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Cyprus, with
the advice and consent of the Legislative Council therebf,
as foUows :—
1. This Law may be cited as the Dangerous; Drugs short title.
Law, 1925.
^ PART I.
Raw Opium, Coca Leaves and Indian Hemp.
2i. It shall not be lawful for any person to import or Restriction
bring into Cyprus any raw opium or coca leaves except tSn"of°raw
for medical and scientific purposes and under license in opium and

3. It shall not be lawful for any person to export from Prohibition

5. Provision may be made by regulations made by the Power to the
Governor in Counc for controlling or restricting the councS^to"^
production, possessioix, sale and distribution of raw opium make reguiaand

the cultivation, production, possession, sale production of
and distribution of the whole or any portion of the plant and dealing

{a) manufactures, sells or otherwise deals in prepared ^^'^s^^ij^n"
opium ; or using, etc., '
(b) has in his possession any prepared opium ; or J^'^P^^'^
(c) being the owner or occupier of any premises
permits those premises to be used for the purpose of
the preparation of opium for smoking or the sale or
smoking of prepared opium ; or
{d) smokes or otherwise uses prepared opium, or
frequents any place used fbr the purpose of opium
smoking ;
he shall be guilty of an offence against this Law.
PART III.
Cocaine, Morphine, etc.
8. It shall not be lawful to import or bring into Cyprus Restriction
any drug to which this Part of this Law appHes except tSn"^?"'^*'*^
for medical and scientific purposes and under license in cocaine, etc
writing of the Chief Medical Officer.
