successors, every year until it shall be otherwise ordered by His<br />

Majesty, His heirs or successors, with the advice of His or tleir<br />

Privy Council:—<br />

£92,799 Us. 3d. bemg the amount payable from the Consolidated<br />

Revenue of the Colony in respect of the Ottoman<br />

Pubhc Debt Charge.<br />

£3,600 for the Governor's salary.<br />

£1,300 for the Grovemor's establishment.<br />

£25,000 for salaries of Judges, Magistrates, Village Judges,<br />

and Officers of the Law Courts, and for the allowances and<br />

expenses of the said Courts.<br />

£10,000 for salaries of public offices the holders of which<br />

are official Members of the Legislative Council.<br />

XXII. And We do hereby require and command all Our<br />

Officers Civil and Military, and aU other the inhabitants of the<br />

Colony, to be obedient, aiding, and assisting unto the Governor<br />

and to such person or persons as may, from time to time, under<br />

the provisions of these Our Letters Patent, administer the Government<br />

of the Colony.<br />

XXIII. In the construction of these Our Letters Patent, unless<br />

inconsistent with the context, the term " the Governor" shall<br />

include every person for the time being administering the Government<br />

of the Colony.<br />

XXIV. And We do hereby reserve to Ourselves, Our heirs<br />

and successcyrs, full power and authority from time to time to revoke,<br />

alter, add to, or amend these Our Letters Patent, as to Us or them<br />

shall seem fit.<br />

XXV. And We do direct and enjoin that these Our Letters<br />

Patent shall be read and proclaimed at such place or places within<br />

the Colony as may be thought fit, and shall be published in the<br />

Cyprus Gazette and shall thereupon commence and come into<br />

operation.<br />

In Witness whereof We have caused these Our Letters to be<br />

made Patent.<br />

Witness Ourself at Westminster, the Tenth day of March,<br />

in the Fifteenth Year of Our Reign.<br />

INSTRUCTIONS passed under the Royal Sign Manual and<br />

Signet to the Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the<br />

Colony of Cyprus.<br />

Dated lOth March, <strong>1925.</strong> GEORGE R.L<br />

Instructions to Our Governor and Commander-in-Chief in<br />

and over Our Colony of Cyprus, or, in his absence,<br />

to the Officer administering the Government of Our<br />

said Colony for the time being.<br />

WHEREAS by an Order of His late Majesty King Edward JJecite* Order in<br />

the Seventh in Council bearing date the Sixth day of jur^^907.^^<br />

July, 1907, provision was made for the Government of<br />

the Island of Cyprus :<br />
