Provided further that the operation of the<br />

said Acts shall be and remain suspended within<br />

the self-governing Dominions hereinafter named,<br />

that is to say, the Commonwealth of Austraha<br />

(including for this purpose Papua and Norfolk<br />

Island), the Dominion of New Zealand, the<br />

Union of South Africa, the Irish Free State and<br />

Newfoundland, and India, until notification shall<br />

have been made in the " London Gazette " that<br />

the Treaty has been made apphcable thereto,<br />

and that on such notification being made in<br />

respect of any such Dominion or India the said<br />

Acts shall apply in such Dominion or India in<br />

the case of Latvia under and in accordance with<br />

the said Treaty as from the date of the said<br />

IN exercise of the powers vested in him by the Post<br />

Office Law, 1881, and otherwise, and with the advice<br />

of the Executive Council, His Excellency the Governor<br />

is pleased to order and it is hereby ordered that on and<br />

afte? the 18th of December, 1925, the following fees<br />

shall be charged by or under the Island Postmaster<br />

in respect of Insured Boxes addressed to the United<br />

Kingdom and those British Colonies and Foreign<br />

Countries accepting Insured Boxes for delivery, subject<br />

to the Postal Insurance Regulations, 1925 :—<br />

A postage rate of 2cp. for every 2 oz. with a<br />

minimum charge of lOc^.<br />

The Registration Fee of 2^cp.<br />

_., An Insurance fee of 2rp. for every £12,or fcacbion<br />

' of that amount of the sum assured.<br />

Provided that :—<br />

{(() The amount of compensation payable in<br />

respect of any one Insured Box shall in no case<br />

exceed the maximum sum of insurance admitted<br />

by the country of destination,<br />

(//) That this service of Insured Boxes shall<br />

be in force at the Post Offices of Nicosia, Larnaca,<br />

Limassol, Famagusta, Paphos, Kyrenia, Pedoulas,<br />

Platres and Troodos only.<br />

Nothing contained in of done under or in pursuance<br />

of tliis Order shall render the Island Postmaster liable<br />

cither personally or in his official capacity to any action<br />

or other legal prcxjeeding in respect of or in consequence<br />

of the loss of any such Insured Box or of any of the<br />

contents thereof, and, subject to the approval of the<br />

Governor, tlie decision of the Island Postmaster on all<br />

questions arising between him and any person claiming<br />

compensation in respect of the loss of any such Insured<br />

Box or of an}' of the contents thereof shall be final,<br />

Municipal Councils Law, 1882, and with the advice<br />

of the Executive Council, His Excellency the Governor<br />

has been pleased to appoint and hereby appoints<br />

Mr, Loukas Haralambou Loukaides and Mr, Antonio<br />

Branco, both of Nicosia, Cyprus, to examine into the<br />

affairs of the Municipal Council of Morphou and to<br />

report in writing upon the present financial position<br />

of the said Municipal Council and upon the methods<br />

used in and the state of the accounts.<br />

Excellency the Governor is pleased to order and it is<br />

hereby ordered that from and after the date of this<br />

order there shall be remitted the stamp duties and fees<br />

with which, under any law for the time being in force,<br />

instruments executed by or on behalf of the ''Ayios<br />

Theodoros (Karpas) Co-operative Credit Society " or<br />

by any officer or member and relating to the business<br />

of the said Society are chargeable.<br />
