<strong>THE</strong> following Laws enacted by His Excellency the<br />

High Commissioner and Commander-in-Chief of<br />

the Island of Cyprus, with the advice and consent of the<br />

Legislative Council thereof, which have been assented<br />

to by His Excellency in the name of His Majesty and<br />

on his behalf, are published for general information in<br />

a Supplement to this Gazette :<br />

Development and Improvement of the Silkworm<br />

<strong>THE</strong> BURIALS LAW, 1896.<br />

WHEREAS it has been reported that the place for<br />

the burial of the dead belonging to the Christian<br />

community in the village of Paliouriotissa, Nicosia<br />

District, i,- dangerous to the public health ;<br />

Now, th( ri lore, in pursuance of the powers vested in<br />

him by the I'urials Law, 1896, His Excellency the<br />

Hii^h Commissioner is pleased to order, and it is hereby<br />

ordered, that a new burial-ground, in substitution for<br />

the aforesaid, shall be provided under the provisions of<br />

the said law. (M.P. 1417/12.)<br />

ll/'HEREAS it has been reported that the place for<br />

<strong>THE</strong> FOREST LAW, 1889.<br />

I^OTIOE is hereby given that, under the provisions<br />

Il of section 2 of the Forest Law, 1889, Mr. Costa<br />

Hj. Haralambou of Kallepia village in the District of<br />

Paphos, has placed all plantations and trees stated to<br />

belong to him and situated within the village lands of<br />

Moron ero (Paphos District) under the protection,<br />

control and management of the Government for a<br />

further period of five years as from the 10th February,<br />

<strong>1925.</strong><br />

"VTOTICB is hereby given that, under the provisionB<br />

Jjl of section, 2 of the Forest Law, 1889, the Most<br />

Reverend Metropolitan of Kitium has placed all the<br />

plantations and trees stated to belong to Archangelos<br />

and Am,azzhou Monasteries and situated in the Limassol<br />

District, under the protection, control and management<br />

of the Government for a period of five years as<br />

from the 9th December, 1924.<br />

TENDERS FOR <strong>THE</strong> SUPPLY OF APPROXI­<br />

MATELY 427 PAIRS NATIVE FIELD<br />

BOOTS (TSANGAROPODINES).<br />

TENDERS are hereby invited for the supply of the<br />

above article for the Rural Police the delivery of<br />

which will be made not later than the 15th July,<br />

1925, at each Police Divisional Headquarters in<br />

numbers as required.<br />

2. All tenders should be sealed, and should be<br />

addressed to the President of the Tender Board, the<br />

Office of the Treasurer, Nicosia.<br />

3. Tenders should either bedeposited in the Tender<br />

Box outside the Office of the Treasurer or be sent<br />

through the post. Postage on any tender sent through<br />

the post must be prepaid ; otherwise, deUvery of the<br />

same will not be accepted.<br />

4. Tenders should be marked " Tender for Native<br />

Field Boots " in the left hand top corner of the envelope,<br />

and should reach the Office of the Treasurer not<br />

later than 11 a.m. on the 16th March, <strong>1925.</strong><br />

5. No tender will be considered unless in respect of<br />

it all the conditions above laid down have been strictly<br />

fulfilled.<br />

6. All details regarding the article to be supplied<br />

can be obtained from the Chief Commandant of PoUce.<br />

7. This tender becomes binding and must be canied<br />

into effect upon being accepted by the Chief Com-'<br />

mandant of Police.<br />

8. Before the acceptance of any tender, the tenderer<br />

will deposit samples with the Tender Board.<br />

9. The Government does not bind itself to accept<br />

the lowest or any tender.<br />
