cocaine, all preparations containing diacetyl-morphine,
and Galenical preparations (extract and tincture) of
Indian hemp.
For the purpose of the foregoing provision the percentage
in the case of morphine shall be calculated as in respect
of anhydrous morphine.
(2) If it appears to the Govemor that any derivative
of Indian hemp, morphine or cocaine or any of the salts
of morphine or cocaine or any other alkaloid of o^ium or
any other drug of whatever kind is or is likely to be
productive, if improperly used, of ill effects substantially
of the same character or nature as or analogous to those
prpjduced by Indian hemp, morphine or cocain^, tjie
Governor may by Order in Council declare that this Part
of this Law shall apply to that derivative or alkaloid or
other drug in the same manner as it applies to the drugs
mentioned in sub-section (1) of this section.
PART IV.
General.
12.—(1) Articles prohibited either wholly or on condition Application
to be imported by virtue of this Law shall be deemed to be LIW^^^"^
included among such goods as have been prohibited wholly
or on condition by virtue of section 8 of the Customs, No, 22 of
Excise, and Revenue Law, 1899, and the provisions of this ^^^^•
Law relating to the prohibition of the export of articles
shall have effect as though they were included in the -^^ 24 of
Customs and Excise Regulations Law, 1879. 1879.
(2) If any goods prohibited either wholly or on condition
to be exported by virtue of this Law are exported from
Cyprus in contravention thereof, or brought to a quay
or other place to be shipped for the purpose of being so
exported ori of being waterborne to be so exported, the
exporter or his agent shall be liable to a penalty not
exceeding one hundred pounds, and any drug to which
any Part of this Law applies shall be liable to fdrfeiture.
13.—(1) Any Peace Officer or other person authorised Powers of
in that behalf by any general or special Order of the "^p®ction.
Governor shall, for the purposes of the execution of this
Law, have power to enter the premises of any person
carrjdng on the business of a producer, manufactiirer, seller
or distributor of any drugs to which this Law applies,
and to demand the production of and to inspect any books
relating to dealings in any such drugs and to inspect any
stocks of any such drugs.
(2) If any person wilfully delays or obstructs any person
in the exercise of his powers under this section or fails
to produce or conceals or attempts to conceal any such
books or stocks as aforesaid, he shall be guilty of an
offence against this Law.
. 14.—(1) If any person acts in contravention of or fails offences and
to comply'with any regulatixjn made under this La,w, or Penalties,
acts in contravention of or "fails to comply with the conditions
of any license issued or authority granted under or
in pursuance of this Law, he shall be guilty of an offence
against this Law.
(2) Any person guilty of an offence against this Law
shall be liable to a fine not, exceeding one hundred pounds
or to imprisonment with or without hard labour for a.
term not exceeding one j^ear or to both such fine and
imprisonment, and the Court dealing with the case may,
