cocaine, all preparations containing diacetyl-morphine,<br />

and Galenical preparations (extract and tincture) of<br />

Indian hemp.<br />

For the purpose of the foregoing provision the percentage<br />

in the case of morphine shall be calculated as in respect<br />

of anhydrous morphine.<br />

(2) If it appears to the Govemor that any derivative<br />

of Indian hemp, morphine or cocaine or any of the salts<br />

of morphine or cocaine or any other alkaloid of o^ium or<br />

any other drug of whatever kind is or is likely to be<br />

productive, if improperly used, of ill effects substantially<br />

of the same character or nature as or analogous to those<br />

prpjduced by Indian hemp, morphine or cocain^, tjie<br />

Governor may by Order in Council declare that this Part<br />

of this Law shall apply to that derivative or alkaloid or<br />

other drug in the same manner as it applies to the drugs<br />

mentioned in sub-section (1) of this section.<br />

PART IV.<br />

General.<br />

12.—(1) Articles prohibited either wholly or on condition Application<br />

to be imported by virtue of this Law shall be deemed to be LIW^^^"^<br />

included among such goods as have been prohibited wholly<br />

or on condition by virtue of section 8 of the Customs, No, 22 of<br />

Excise, and Revenue Law, 1899, and the provisions of this ^^^^•<br />

Law relating to the prohibition of the export of articles<br />

shall have effect as though they were included in the -^^ 24 of<br />

Customs and Excise Regulations Law, 1879. 1879.<br />

(2) If any goods prohibited either wholly or on condition<br />

to be exported by virtue of this Law are exported from<br />

Cyprus in contravention thereof, or brought to a quay<br />

or other place to be shipped for the purpose of being so<br />

exported ori of being waterborne to be so exported, the<br />

exporter or his agent shall be liable to a penalty not<br />

exceeding one hundred pounds, and any drug to which<br />

any Part of this Law applies shall be liable to fdrfeiture.<br />

13.—(1) Any Peace Officer or other person authorised Powers of<br />

in that behalf by any general or special Order of the "^p®ction.<br />

Governor shall, for the purposes of the execution of this<br />

Law, have power to enter the premises of any person<br />

carrjdng on the business of a producer, manufactiirer, seller<br />

or distributor of any drugs to which this Law applies,<br />

and to demand the production of and to inspect any books<br />

relating to dealings in any such drugs and to inspect any<br />

stocks of any such drugs.<br />

(2) If any person wilfully delays or obstructs any person<br />

in the exercise of his powers under this section or fails<br />

to produce or conceals or attempts to conceal any such<br />

books or stocks as aforesaid, he shall be guilty of an<br />

offence against this Law.<br />

. 14.—(1) If any person acts in contravention of or fails offences and<br />

to comply'with any regulatixjn made under this La,w, or Penalties,<br />

acts in contravention of or "fails to comply with the conditions<br />

of any license issued or authority granted under or<br />

in pursuance of this Law, he shall be guilty of an offence<br />

against this Law.<br />

(2) Any person guilty of an offence against this Law<br />

shall be liable to a fine not, exceeding one hundred pounds<br />

or to imprisonment with or without hard labour for a.<br />

term not exceeding one j^ear or to both such fine and<br />

imprisonment, and the Court dealing with the case may,<br />
