To AMEND THE GAME AND WiLD BiRDS LAW.
E it enacted by His ExceUency the High Commissioner
-^^i, ^? Commander-m-Chief of the Island of Cyprus,
with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council
thereof, as follows :—
1. This Law may be cited as the Game and Wild Birds short title.
Protection (Amendment) Law, 1925, and shaU be read as
one with the Game and Wild Birds Protection Law, 1922
(hereinafter referred to as the Principal Law), and the
Principal Law and this Law may together be cited as the
Game and Wild Birds Protection Laws, 1922 and 1925.
2. The Principal Law, section 2, is hereby repealed and Repeal of

" Game " means hares, pheasants, partridges, and

" Game bird " means any bird included in the term

'* Wild bird " means any undomesticated bird not
included in the term Game.
3. The Principal Law, section 3 (4), is hereby repealed Repeal of

6.—(4:) A hcense under this Law other than one Duration of
granted under the provisions of section 5 (3) hereof shall ^'^'^^•
commence on the 20th August and shall expire on the
31st March provided always that hcenses issued in
respect of the year expiring the 1st March, 1926, shall
be good and vahd up to and including the 31st March
1926.
4. The Principal Law, section 5, is hereby repealed Repeal of

5.—(1) No person shall from the 1st February to the iE*e^^^^^"
20th August, both days inclusive, in any year shoot, season.
kill, take, sell or expose for sale or attempt to shoot,
kill, or take game or wild birds.
(2) Provided that the High Commissioner in Council
may order that within such areas as shall be specified
in such order wild birds may be shot, killed or taken,
or attempted to be shot, killed or taken, from the 1st
February to the 31st March, both days inclusive, in any
year.
(3) Provided also that the Commissioner of the
District may by license under his hand authorize th^
shooting of crows, sparrows, thrushes, blackbirds, starlings,
larks, beccaficos, bee-eaters, doves, pigeons, jackdaws,
magpies, ravens and hawks between the 1st April
and 31st May, both days inclusive. Every such license
shall state the name of the person to whom it is granted,
and the period during which and the place at which
the person holding the license may shoot such wild
birds as aforesaid.
