ORDER OF HIS EXCELLENCY THE
GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL,-No. 1057,

IN exercise of the powers vested in him by the
Co-operative Societies Law, 1923, and with
the, advice of the Executive Council, His Excellency
the Governor is pleased to make and hereby makes the
the following Rules :—
1, Rule 11 of the Rules under the above-mentioned
Law, dated the 12th June, 1923, is amended by the
deletion of the words " 15th day of March " and the
substitution therefor of the words " 31st day of March,"
2, Rule 19 of the Rules under the above-mentioned
Law, dated the 12th June, 1923, is amended by the
addition of the words " In the temporary absence of
the Chairman the Committee shall appoint one of their
number to perform his duties,"
3, Rule 28, sub-section (1) of the Rules under the
above-mentioned Law, dated the 12th June, 1923, is
amended by the deletion of the words " the first of
March" and the substitution therefor of the words
" the 15th day of April."
4, Rule 49 of the Rules under the above-mentioned
Law, dated the 12th June, 1923, is amended by the
deletion in lines 1 and 8 of the word " Committee "
and the substitution therefor of the word " Secretary "
and the deletion in line 1 of the word " share " and
the insertion in line 2 after the word " register " of the
words " of members and shares,"
5, Rule 54 of the Rules under the above-mentioned
Law, dated the 12th June, 1923, is cancelled and in
substitution therefor the following Rule shall have
effect : —
ACCOUNTS AND BOOKS.
54. The following books shall, be kept by the
Secretary of the Society in the prescribed form—
1. Minute Book.
2. Cash Book. "
3. General Ledger.
4. Book of Current Accounts with Members.
5. Register of Members and Shares,
6. Visitors' Book,
7. Counterfoil Receipt Book.

APPOINTMENT UNDER THE CYPRUS
COURTS OF JUSTICE AMENDMENT
ORDER, 1902.
UNDER the power and authority vested in him by
the Cyprus Courts of Justice Amendment Order,
1902, His Excellency the Governor has been pleased
to appoint Mr, A. M, Thomas to be a Judge of the
Supreme Court for the purpose of hearing appeals in
the hearing of which it is undesirable that Mr. B.
Dickinson, now a Judge of the Supreme Court, should
take part.
