To AMEND <strong>THE</strong> LAW WITH REGARD TO <strong>THE</strong><br />

CONSTRUCTION OF LAWS. -<br />

BE it enacted by His ExceUency the Govemor and<br />

Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Cyprus, with<br />

the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof,<br />

as follows :—<br />

1. This Law may be cited as the Interpretation (Amend- short title,<br />

ment) Law, 1925, and shall be read as one with the Interpretation<br />

Law, 1901, (hereinafter referred to as the Principal<br />

Law), and the Principal Law and this Law may together<br />

be cited as the Interpretation Laws, 1901 and <strong>1925.</strong><br />

2. The Principal Law, section 6, is hereby amended Amendment<br />

1by the deletion of the word " Chief " and the substitution fgjf^j^^<br />

therefor of the word " Colonial" and by the addition<br />

thereto of the following sub-sections :—<br />

(16) The expression " Attorney-General " means the<br />

Attorney-General to the Government of Cyprus for the<br />

time being.<br />

(17) The expression "Treasurer" means the Treasurer<br />

to the Government of Cyprus for the time being.<br />

3. Wherever in any Laws, Proclamations, Regulations Meaning of<br />

or other enactments in force in Cyprus the words "Chief certain<br />

Secretary," " King's Advocate " or " Receiver-General" ^°;t'°^''''<br />

•occur, the words " Colonial Secretary," "Attorney-General<br />

" or " Treasurer " respectively shall be read in place<br />

thereof.<br />

Passed in Council the first day of May, in the year of<br />

Our Lord one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five.<br />
