advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof,
To AMEND THE LAW WITH REGARD TO THE
CONSTRUCTION OF LAWS. -

BE it enacted by His ExceUency the Govemor and
Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Cyprus, with
the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof,
as follows :—
1. This Law may be cited as the Interpretation (Amend- short title,
ment) Law, 1925, and shall be read as one with the Interpretation
Law, 1901, (hereinafter referred to as the Principal
Law), and the Principal Law and this Law may together
be cited as the Interpretation Laws, 1901 and 1925.
2. The Principal Law, section 6, is hereby amended Amendment
1by the deletion of the word " Chief " and the substitution fgjf^j^^
therefor of the word " Colonial" and by the addition
thereto of the following sub-sections :—
(16) The expression " Attorney-General " means the
Attorney-General to the Government of Cyprus for the
time being.
(17) The expression "Treasurer" means the Treasurer
to the Government of Cyprus for the time being.
3. Wherever in any Laws, Proclamations, Regulations Meaning of
or other enactments in force in Cyprus the words "Chief certain
Secretary," " King's Advocate " or " Receiver-General" ^°;t'°^''''
•occur, the words " Colonial Secretary," "Attorney-General
" or " Treasurer " respectively shall be read in place
thereof.
Passed in Council the first day of May, in the year of
Our Lord one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five.
