IN exercise of the powers vested in him by the<br />

Municipal Councils Law, 1882, and otherwise,<br />

and with the advice of the Executive Council, His<br />

Excellency tbe Governor has been pleased to order<br />

and it is hereby ordered that the Municipal Council of<br />

Famagusta-Varosha shall be at liberty to borrow the<br />

sum of four thousand pounds (£4,000) at a rate of<br />

interest not exceeding eight per cent. (8%) for the<br />

purpose of paying off all outstanding loans except those<br />

which have been contracted with the Government.<br />

Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony<br />

of Cyprus, with the advice and consent of the<br />

Legislative Council thereof, which has been assented<br />

to by His Excellency in the name of His Majesty and<br />

on his behalf, is published for general information in<br />

a Supplement to this Gazette :<br />

HIS EXCELLENCY <strong>THE</strong> GOVEENOE has been pleased<br />

Hussein Ibrahim Eff., to be, on probation, a Lightkeeper,<br />

leave from 7th May to 6th August, 1925, and<br />

leave of absence with half salary from 7th August<br />

LARNACA MUNICIPALITY.<br />

HIS EXCELLENCY <strong>THE</strong> HIGH COMMISSIONEE has<br />

been pleased to approve the following Bye-laws<br />

made by the Municipal Council of Larnaca.<br />

BYE-LAWS MADE BT <strong>THE</strong> MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF<br />

LAENACA.<br />

Article 4 of the Bye-laws in respect to market fees,<br />

which were published on page 292 of the Cyprus<br />

Gazette No. 1434 of the 5th July, 1920, .shall be<br />

amended to read as follows :—<br />

The market fees prescribed by Article 3 shall<br />

either be reduced or waived altogether on one day<br />

to be fixed by the Municipal Council in each week<br />

in every month of the year, such day being termed<br />

*' Market day ".<br />

Provided always that the present Article shall not<br />

be taken to apply to any market fees chargeable<br />

under paragraph (h) of Article 2.<br />
