A BILL
To AMEND THE LAW REGTJLATING PENSIONS, GRATUITIES,
AND OTHER ALLOWANCES TO BE GRANTED IN RESPECT
OP OFFICES HELD IN THE PUBLIC SERVICE OF CYPRUS.
BE it enacted by His ExceUency the Govemor and
Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Cyprus, with the
advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as
follows:—
1. This Law may be cited as the Pensions (Amendment) short title.
Law, 1926, and sliall be read as one with the Pensions
Law, 1905, and the Pensions (Amendment) Law, 1924,
and these Laws and this Law may together be cited as
the Pensions Laws, 1905 to 1926.
2. Where an officer is removed from his office on the Pension of
ground of his inabiUty to discharge efficiently the duties Jj^^^j ^
thereof, and a pension, gratuity, or other allowance cannot on the
otherwise be granted to him under the provisions of the g^Sn?
Pensions-Xaws, 1905 to 1926, the Governor-in-Council, with ""^ '''^''°^'
the approval of the Secretary of State, may if he considers
it justifiable, having regard to all the circumstances of the
case, grant such a pension, gratuity, or other allowance as
he thinks just and proper, but in no case exceeding in
amount that for which the officer would be qualified if he
were suffering from some infirmity of mind or body likely
to be i^ermanent.
