<strong>THE</strong> BURIALS LAW, 1896.<br />

WITH reference to Notification No. 593 pubhshed<br />

in the Cyprus Gazette No. 1666 of the 19th of<br />

December, 1924, a fit and proper site having been<br />

registered as a place for the burial of the dead belonging<br />

to the Moslem community in the village of Souskiou, in<br />

the District of Paphos, His Excellency the High Commissioner,<br />

in exercise of the powers vested in him by<br />

the Burials Law, 1896, is pleased to order, and, it is<br />

hereby ordered that, from a^d after the 1st day of<br />

February, 1925, no burial shall take place in the burialground<br />

in lieu of which the new burial-ground above<br />

referred to has been provided. (M.P. 1421/12.)<br />

NOTICE.<br />

CLAIMS AGAESTBT <strong>THE</strong> GREEK GOVERNMENT.<br />

A TTENTION<br />

is directed by the Board of Trade to<br />

the terms of the Convention between the British<br />

Empire, France, Italy and Greece signed at Lausanne<br />

on the 24th July, 1923, regulating the payment by<br />

Greece of sums due in respect of goods requisitioned or<br />

seized by the Greek Armies or Administrative Authorities,<br />

sums due for services rendered to those Armies<br />

and Authorities, and sums due as compensation for<br />

losses and damage suffered after the 1st June, 1921,<br />

resulting from acts of the Greek Armies or Administrative<br />

Authorities other than loss and damage due to<br />

acts of war in the zone of active military operations.<br />

This Convention having been ratified, steps are being<br />

taken by His Majesty's Government for the presentation<br />

to the Greek Government of claims by British<br />

Nationals under the Convention.<br />

All claims by British Nationals which have not already<br />

been notified to the British Legation at Athens<br />

or to the Foreign Office or to the Reparation Claims<br />

Department of the Board of Trade should be lodged<br />

without delay with the Reparation Claims Department<br />

of the Board of Trade at Cornwall House, Stamford<br />

Street, London, S.E.I., with full particulars of all facts<br />

ujxtn which the claim is founded, together with material<br />

dates, names of persons who can testify in support<br />

of claims and copies of all material documents.<br />

<strong>THE</strong> Principal ForestOfficer hereby gives notice that<br />

all applications for licenses for the distillation of<br />

Origanum or c^ber essential oils within the Paphos-<br />

K'vkko State Forest should reach him not later than<br />

the Ist May, 1925, and should be addressed in writing<br />

to the ''Principal Forest Officer, Nicosia," and headed<br />

in the left hand corner of the en\elope "Origanum<br />

oU."<br />

Persons to whom Ucenses for such distillation may<br />

be granted wOl be required to enter into a written<br />

agreement for a license for 5 years with the Principal<br />

Forest Officer.<br />

A copy of the agreement may be seen on application<br />

NOTICE.<br />

OFFICERS HOLDING COMMISSIONS IN AN IMPERIAL<br />

MILITARY FORCE WHO ARE APPOINTED TO POSTS<br />

UNDER A COLONIAL GOVERNMENT.<br />

<strong>THE</strong> HIGH COMMISSIONER directs it to be notified<br />

for general information that:—<br />

[a) Officers of the MiUtia and those on the Active<br />

liist of the Territorial Army may retain their Commissions<br />

on appointment to military posts, or to<br />

probationary or temporary civil posts in a Colony,<br />

Protectorate or Mandated Territory, and will not be<br />

liable to be recalled for military training or military<br />

duty.<br />

. (&) Officers of the Regular Army Reserve of<br />

Officers and the Territorial Army Reserve of Officers,<br />

with the exception of those appointed to the General<br />

Reserve from the Officers Training Corps, may<br />

retain their commissions whilst in permanent, pro-<br />

• bationary, or temporary employment in a Colony,<br />

Protectorate, or Mandated' Territory, whether civil<br />

or mihtarv, and will not be liable to recall to milltary<br />

duty, or training of any description whilst so<br />

employed.<br />

(c) Officers of the Supplementary Reserve and<br />

those of the'^G'eneral Reserve appointed thereto from<br />

the Officers Training Corps must resign their commissions<br />

on appointment to a post under a Colonial,<br />

etc., Government.<br />

Notification No. 11670, published in the Cyprus<br />

Gazette No. 1072 of the 14th of March, 1913, is<br />
