<strong>THE</strong> Eight Honourable the Secretary of State for<br />

the Colonies has intimated that His Majesty will<br />

not be advised to exercise his power of disallowance<br />

with regard to the following Law enacted by the<br />

Legislative Council of Cyprus :—<br />

Inspection of Mines and for the Payment of Compensation<br />

to Workmen for Injuries suffered in the<br />

APPOINTMENT UNDER <strong>THE</strong> <strong>CYPRUS</strong><br />

COURTS OF JUSTICE AMENDMENT<br />

ORDER, 1902.<br />

UNDER the power and authority vested in him by<br />

the Cyprus Courts of Justice Amendment Order,<br />

1902, His Excellency the Governor has been pleased<br />

to appoint Mr. A. M. Thomas, President, District<br />

Court, Kyrenia, to be a Judge of the Supreme Court<br />

for the purpose of hearing appeals in the hearing of<br />

which it is undesirable that Mr. E. 1). Vergette, now<br />

a Judge of the Supreme Court, should take part by<br />

reason of his having been a member of the Court the<br />

decision of which is appealed against.<br />

<strong>THE</strong> FOREST LAW, 1889.<br />

WITH reference to Notification No. 380 published<br />

in the Cyprus Gazette No. 1646 of the 1st.<br />

August, 1924, notice is hereby given that the plantations<br />

and trees belonging to Marghi Monastery near<br />

Myrtou village, Kyrenia District, will cease to be under<br />

the protection, control and management of the Oovern^<br />

ment of Cyprus as from the 6th July, <strong>1925.</strong><br />
