(Federal Statistical Office 2008c: 45). Among the <strong>in</strong>terviewees,<br />

with an average of 3.9 members the households of the <strong>Muslim</strong><br />

<strong>in</strong>terviewees are larger than the households of members of<br />

other religions, which comprise 3.2 persons on average. Differences<br />

accord<strong>in</strong>g to region of orig<strong>in</strong> are evident once aga<strong>in</strong> here<br />

(figure 23). The households of <strong>Muslim</strong>s from Southeast Europe,<br />

South/Southeast Asia and the Middle East are particularly large.<br />

The large number of household members among non-<strong>Muslim</strong>s<br />

from Turkey and North Africa is notable, while non-<strong>Muslim</strong>s<br />

from most other regions have households of below-average size.<br />
