The f<strong>in</strong>d<strong>in</strong>g that regular attendance of religious events<br />

is less conducive to forg<strong>in</strong>g contact with Germans for <strong>Muslim</strong><br />

<strong>in</strong>terviewees than for members of other religious communities<br />

may be attributable to the fact that events of an <strong>Islam</strong>ic nature<br />

are less likely to be attended by Germans than Christian events.<br />

This results <strong>in</strong> less po<strong>in</strong>ts of potential contact with Germans for<br />

<strong>Muslim</strong>s at religious events <strong>in</strong> comparison to migrants from a<br />

Christian background.<br />

An assessment of the connection between participation<br />

<strong>in</strong> religious events and membership of a German association<br />

or organisation produces a similar result (figure 42). <strong>Muslim</strong>s<br />

who rarely attend religious events or worship are more likely to<br />

be members of a German association or organisation. <strong>Muslim</strong>s
