The <strong>in</strong>tegration course ends with a f<strong>in</strong>al exam<strong>in</strong>ation.<br />

Those who atta<strong>in</strong> proficiency level B 1 receive the so-called<br />

“Zertifikat Deutsch”. 69 per cent of the <strong>in</strong>terviewees who attended<br />

an <strong>in</strong>tegration course sat this f<strong>in</strong>al exam<strong>in</strong>ation, while<br />

31 per cent did not sit the exam<strong>in</strong>ation. 65 per cent of all those<br />

participat<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> the course passed the exam<strong>in</strong>ation, while 4 per<br />

cent failed. Of those who sat the exam<strong>in</strong>ation, almost all passed<br />

(94 per cent).
