3.3 Throttle <strong>and</strong> Brake<br />

The throttle is used to control the speed of each engine. The zero position of the throttle<br />

is located in the middle. When the slider of the throttle is in the rightmost position, the<br />

train runs forward with maximum speed. Conversely the maximum backward speed is<br />

achieved by pulling the slider to the leftmost position.<br />

It is also possible to set the zero position of the throttle to the leftmost position of the<br />

throttle control. In this mode the maximum forward or backward speed is achieved by<br />

pulling the slider to the rightmost position. The direction of the engine is controlled by<br />

the separate direction selector.<br />

The above sections describe the train oriented mode of the throttle control. In this<br />

mode the throttle causes the train always to move forward, when the direction control is<br />

pointing to the right, <strong>and</strong> to move backward, when the direction control is pointing to<br />

the left. In the layout oriented mode the throttle causes the operated train to move to<br />

the left on the layout, when the direction control is pointing to the left, <strong>and</strong> to move to<br />
