It is also possible to specify certain engine functions as hidden. Such functions are not<br />

associated with function controls in the train window <strong>and</strong> can be controlled automatically<br />

by schedules or macros, etc. without consuming space in the train window.<br />

The Engine Functions Library<br />

The engine function library contains the predefined names (e.g. “Light”) <strong>and</strong> symbols<br />

for the available functions. Each function to be assigned to an engine is selected from<br />

this library. <strong>TrainController</strong> is delivered with a default set of predefined functions<br />

<strong>and</strong> symbols. You can also add new functions <strong>and</strong> draw your own symbols; you can also<br />

customise the names <strong>and</strong> symbols of existing functions to your personal needs.<br />

Each engine function is uniquely identified by the name <strong>and</strong> symbol stored in the library.<br />

If an engine function is executed by a macro or a schedule, then the particular<br />

function is identified by its name <strong>and</strong> symbol. The function library, however, allows assignment<br />

of different actions to the “same” function of different engines. In this way<br />
