SUMMARY
struction industry is currently interpreted (problem no. 7). This leads to the following
goal for the thesis as a whole:
SIDE 10
To contribute to a change in the way the construction industry is interpreted
at present. A new understanding of construction as a production should be
founded holistically in a combination between the Transformation-Flow-
Value concepts.
The change in the way the construction industry is interpreted is analysed with
regards to four different variables which are; Environment, Problem, Implications
and Control over variables. These variables are used by Professor Richard Duke 1
to decide what problem solving techniques to use in various situations. For many
years Richard Duke has developed games in order to expose problems and implement
solutions. Richard Duke uses the matrix shown in Figure 2 to compare
gaming with other techniques for problem solving.
