SUMMARY
to remove the cards is by using the percentages printed on the cards and rolling a
special die (6 rolls are allowed in each round/week) with 10 possible outcomes.
The way to read the cards is described underneath:
SIDE 16
─ The percentage underneath the number 1 represents the possibility for removing
the card in the current week (the weekly work plan). The percentage
underneath the number 2 represents the possibility for removing the
card one week in advance and so forth.
─ The constraints are removed by rolling the die. If the outcome of the role
shows the stated percentage or lower the constraints can be removed.
Two examples
Underneath are given two examples on how to read the constraint card, which
states “New drawings due to changes in the project’s design”.
1. A team is at the beginning of week 7
where this card occurs. Thus the possibility
for removing the card in the
given week is stated under the number
1 and therefore is 10%. If the
team after rolling the die has an outcome
of 10% or less the card can be
removed.
changes in the
project's design
1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
2. A team is at the beginning of week 7 and has according to the look ahead
window identified this constraint in week 9. Thus the possibility for removing
the card in the given week – week 7 – is stated under the number
3 and therefore is 30%. If the team after rolling the die has an outcome of
30% or less the card can be removed.
After each round (week) played each team records how many activities it was able
to produce – that is how many Lego bricks it was able to build out of the ten possible.
The PPC is recorded in a diagram as the one shown in Figure 8.
