l<strong>of</strong>a Cri<strong>of</strong>d, neoch tug aithne<br />

da Eafbulaidh, agas da Mhinifdribh<br />

who pronounceth the children begotten and borne, either <strong>of</strong> the<br />

parents being faythful, to be cleane and holy. Also our Saviour<br />

Christ admitteth children to his presence, imbrasing and blessinge<br />

them. Which testimonies <strong>of</strong> the Holy Ghoste assure us, that infants<br />

be <strong>of</strong> the number <strong>of</strong> God's people ; and that remission <strong>of</strong> synnes<br />

doth also apperteyne to theim in Christ. <strong>The</strong>rfore, wythout<br />

injurie, they cannot be debarred from the common signe <strong>of</strong> God's<br />

children. Neither yet is this owteward action <strong>of</strong> suche necessitie,<br />

that the lacke ther<strong>of</strong> shuld be prejudiciall to their salvation, yf<br />

that prevented by death, thei may not conveniently be presented<br />

to the church. But we (havinge respect to that obedience which<br />

Christians owe to the voice and ordinance <strong>of</strong> Christ Jesus, who<br />

commanded to preache and baptise all wythout exception).
