that saveth his people from their sinnes. He is <strong>called</strong> Christ, that<br />

is to say, Anoynted, by reason <strong>of</strong> the <strong>of</strong>fices given unto him by God<br />

his Father ; to wit, that he alone is appointed King, Priest, and<br />

Prophet. King, in that, that all power is given to him in heaven<br />

and earth ; so that there is none other but he in heaven nor earth,<br />

that hath just authority and power to make lawes to bynd the<br />

consciences <strong>of</strong> men ; neither yet is there any other that may<br />

defend our soules from the bondage <strong>of</strong> sinne, nor yet our bodies<br />

from the tiranny <strong>of</strong> man. And this he doeth by the power <strong>of</strong> his<br />

worde, by the which he draweth us out <strong>of</strong> the bondage and sclavery<br />

<strong>of</strong> Satan, and maketh us to reigne over sinne ; whils that we lyve<br />

and serve our God in righteousnesse and holynes <strong>of</strong> our life.<br />
