year. Distribution network in major cities for which PFC has<br />

sanctioned counterpart funding during 2005-06 include<br />

Margao Town, Panjim, Agra etc.<br />

11.0 ACCELERATED GENERATION & SUPPLY<br />

PROGRAMME (AG&SP) DURING 10TH PLAN.<br />

The AG&SP scheme has been extended to 10th Plan.<br />

The AG&SP scheme for the 10th Plan envisages the<br />

following:-<br />

1. The assistance under the AG&SP scheme shall be<br />

limited to State sector Renovation & Modernization<br />

(R&M) <strong>of</strong> thermal power plants and Renovation &<br />

Uprating (R&U) <strong>of</strong> hydro power plants including R&M<br />

<strong>of</strong> power plants <strong>of</strong> Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC);<br />

2. The State sector generation projects including those<br />

based on non-conventional energy sources are covered<br />

which are to be commissioned in the 10th Plan;<br />

3. Grants under AG&SP scheme will be provided to SEBs,<br />

SGCs and State <strong>Power</strong> Departments for carrying out the<br />

studies, which help to achieve policy objectives <strong>of</strong> the<br />

24 MW Wind <strong>Power</strong> Project financed by PFC<br />

Government relating to power sector. These include<br />

power sector reform and restructuring studies, system<br />

studies, R&M studies, life extension studies, retainer<br />

consultancy for R&M and environment/ social studies;<br />

4. Interest subsidy under the scheme is the difference <strong>of</strong><br />

prevailing PFC interest rate and G Sec rate limited to 3%<br />

and 4% for North Eastern states as the case may be.<br />

5. During the financial year, 2004-05, PFC disbursed an<br />

amount <strong>of</strong> Rs.1820 crore under AG&SP and the <strong>Ministry</strong><br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>Power</strong> released an amount <strong>of</strong> Rs.250 crore.<br />

During the financial year 2005-06 an amount <strong>of</strong> Rs. 1743<br />

crore has been disbursed by PFC under AG&SP during<br />

April 05 to Dec 2005.<br />

12.0 FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR POWER SECTOR<br />

STUDIES<br />

As part <strong>of</strong> its developmental role, the Company has been<br />

extending financial assistance in the form <strong>of</strong> grants,<br />

interest free and/or concessional loans to its Borrowers to<br />

take up important power sector studies in priority areas <strong>of</strong>
