The MoU has since been amended to include Ph.D<br />
programme in the area <strong>of</strong> Management Studies and has<br />
been further extended for 3 years w.e.f. 13th October,<br />
2004.<br />
Under the programme, a number <strong>of</strong> topics for research<br />
have been forwarded to IIT, Delhi along with names <strong>of</strong> CEA<br />
<strong>of</strong>ficer(s) for each <strong>of</strong> the topics to carry out R&D work in<br />
association with the faculty <strong>of</strong> IIT, Delhi. Methodology for<br />
carrying out research work is being formulated.<br />
A number <strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong>ficers <strong>of</strong> CEA, CPRI and NPTI are<br />
pursuing M.Tech and Ph..D courses at IIT, Delhi under<br />
the programme, which will give long term benefits to the<br />
<strong>Power</strong> Sector.<br />
As regards probable anticipated work up to March, 2006,<br />
application for M.Tech and Ph.D for the academic year<br />
2006-07 would be invited during December, 2005.<br />

3. Preparation <strong>of</strong> Data Base<br />
The data/information regarding R&D work in power sector<br />
being carried out by various agencies/organizations in<br />
Private and Government Sectors in India was obtained<br />
and compiled in the form <strong>of</strong> a Directory and is available<br />
on CEA Website. The Directory has been updated based<br />
on the revised information obtained from the Research<br />
Organisations.<br />
As regards probable anticipated work up to March 2006,<br />
it being a continuous process, the updating <strong>of</strong> Directory<br />
will be continued by obtaining revised information from all<br />
concerned.<br />
4. Innovative R&D Proposals<br />
Work regarding promotion <strong>of</strong> innovative methods <strong>of</strong><br />
electricity generation continued and 11 proposals<br />
received from individuals/other Divisions were examined<br />
and commented upon.<br />
